CraigK replied to 5guyshunting's topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
Perfect bullet for a 28 nosler or even a tight twist 7mm LRM -
Son of a buck!!! I can't believe the success that you guys have. Truly amazing! Congrats. One of the neatest antler formations I've ever seen.

CraigK replied to rossislider's topic in Long Range Shooting
If I remember correctly, I think lancetkenyon posted a topic a while back on this with pictures of group sizes shrinking significantly from clean to fouling. pretty cool topic. -
Congrats what a fantastic first buck!!! I can't wait til my daughter turns ten, 7 more years!! Great job to all involved!

168 Berger hunting vld 70.6 of h1000 Rem brass Cci 250 .005 off I really had great results with Hornady 162 sst also 71gr h1000 .020 off Both loads were on the top end, no pressure signs in my rifle, but obviously could differ for other rifles.

I have have a vortex pst in ffp... Wish I would have gone with sfp. The reticle is pretty thick at 24 power... Still a great scope though

Lets hear your custom build Bill of Materials
CraigK replied to Green Bullet's topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
Mines pretty low cost Rem 700 7mm mag Action trued Shillen barrel 1-8 Trigger at 2lbs Bedded Work done by CCR Factory stock painted by my dad Vortex pst 6-24x50 Non expensive and not fully "custom"... But shoots everything I load really well. Pretty envious of some of the previous builds mentioned... One of these days. -
Hornady makes simple tool. I used federal 210m with 175 matchkings and reloader15 shoots right at 1/2 Moa out of a tikka.

162 Hornady sst with 71gr of h1000 seated .020 off shoots great in my 7mm. I do have some 168 Lrabs if you wanted to try a few. They weren't as easy to get to shoot as the sst but I did end up getting sub .5 Moa. The 162 sst would be my first recommendation to try. Wish I had some to give you, but started shooting bergers, good luck hope you can get it figured out.

Incredible buck! That buck in your avatar is a beast as well. Congrats to you, I would be tickled to death to see a buck of this caliber let alone harvest him. Good luck on the rest of your hunting adventures and hope the memories are just as good as harvesting this monster.

awesome buck!!! Congrats! Any more pics of him?

Holy eye guards! Fantastic buck. I'd love to see him hard horned. Hope you get a crack at him!

The only brass I've seen for 7mag was at sportsmans and there wasn't much and it was hornady. If I'm correct lapua doesn't make 7mag brass. If your going to order Norma brass online do it in advance, it seems to be on back order frequently. Hope your able to track some down. Sorry wasn't much help.

Nice scope! I love mine... Wish I would have gotten the sfp like this one though instead of ffp. Good luck with the sale. Shouldn't last long
