Ditto. Live and let live.... just leave me the heck alone +1, I don't see much difference between the Repugnants and the Demoncraps these days. In the immortal words of George Carlin, "It's all one BIG F-ing club - and you and I - are NOT in it.". I think the back-and-forth banter between the two parties is nothing more than a show - no more real than the world wrestling federation. It's a distraction to keep us from noticing how badly we are being screwed by both of them. They cling to this illusion of a 2 party system where all we can do is choose between the lesser of evils. I will never cast another vote for any candidate I don't believe in - even if it's just to vote against someone I'm totally against. This country has real leaders, visionary thinkers and problem solvers. But they're smart enough to know what will happen to them in the political meat grinder if they try to apply those attributes the way the founding fathers meant for them to. That's why our best leaders are sidelined, IMO. It's not that we don't have the resources to be the country we were at the height of our journey, we have too many extremely powerful people in place to make sure those resources never see the light of day.

Killing Giants in 3A Antelope Style!

I've seen a couple bombers in there, but it's certainly not a high-percentage trophy hunt. Unless you live there and scout it almost daily - -
Said it last year, and I'll say it again - the G&F technology infrastructure - at least that facing the public - is incredibly poor, by half a decade ago standards. They obviously have no intention of fixing or upgrading it because a handful of guys could build a site over the weekend that would solve most of our gripes. Just imagine a modern site where you log in and it already knows your hunting license number, date of birth, residency status and all of the information about your family. You should be able to simply go through each family member, pick the hunts to apply for, have all the relevant information pre-populated, pay once and done. You should also be able to see on one screen a summary for yourself and family of bonus points, tags drawn, etc. A G&F officer should be able to immediately look up any licensed hunter in the state and see exactly what hunts they have a tag for, all their history. Pretty easy to do, just not a priority for them.

Leica Televid 77 is the best I've looked though. I think they are discontinued, but sometimes you can find them used. It's the only one I've been able to use for long periods glassing.

20 gauge with Federal Premium 3" Mag #5 has worked very well for my boys from a youth 870 pump. They have not lost any of the birds they shot at with that setup.

Thanks for the info, CouesPersuit. I have been curious for some time why there weren't gizzard shad in more lakes here in AZ. I just did a quick search and saw that gizzard shad had been in Powell for some time now, and have spread to most of the lake - could really increase the size of stripers in the lake.
-
August???
-
Just curious - what damage are these shad doing? When I lived in Oklahoma, all the lakes were loaded with gizzard shad, and the bass (and everything else) got huge on them. That said, we had stripers and alligator gar to eat the really big ones.

I'd say praying mantis or grasshopper.

Anyone here wondering what might have happened to this massive airliner that just "disappeared" over the Indian Ocean? I sure am, but the details are so sketchy, and there don't seem to be any real facts. From what I've read from the various news channels, it seems really fishy. The "black box" was somehow disabled - something that could only be done intentionally. The flight pattern was altered. I've heard anything from 90 degree turn after a sudden drop to a steep incline to 45,000 feet where the passengers would have 10 minutes of oxygen while the cabin holding the pilots would have over an hour. The political leanings of the pilots: Apparently, at least the head pilot was distraught after the recent elections. The things going on in Ukraine. As my dad and I discussed just how bizarre this whole thing is, we also noticed how minimal the coverage is of this massive Russian takeover of Ukraine is, and whether this is just a diversion to keep us all looking the other way while Russia makes some really strategic moves. Palin and Romney both warned against the resurgence of Russia after her supposed collapse, while our whimp-in-chief declared the cold war was long over. Fact is, neither China or Russia are content to let their heritage die - in fact they both hold on to some of the longest standing strongholds of world power in history. Our rise was great, but let's face it. Chinese and Russian colleges are not teaching a philosophy of shame or guilt. They are poising themselves to reclaim dominance. Contrast that with what is being force-fed to us and our children. That our culture isn't so great, that we are oppressors, consumers and bullies. That's probably a topic for another thread, but this whole thing looks like a set-up to me. I think Putin is a remarkable strategist and realizes just how weak we've become and is capitalizing on it right now, and given the resources of his country, it's not too far a stretch to say this whole thing might have been orchestrated to keep our attention off of his reclamation of European countries.

A co-worker last week told me he had several deer in his back yard - lots of does and one really big buck. He's in the greater Phx-metro area. I can only assume these are muleys since he's not a hunter, but his description was 8 does and one really big buck. I would have assumed that all the rutting activity was done weeks ago, and this buck should have gone off by himself. Any thoughts on this?

You're a BAAAAAAD man.

Putting yourself and three sons and trying to recall just what you put in for, and how it might play out...is a waiting game. I got 2 hits for elk. I put myself and oldest son in for archery bull 1 & 3A/3C. My middle son for early rifle in the same units, because he's smart enough to know he's not there yet with the bow. My youngest son pretty much any cow tag available. I put him in for the Jr. hunts first and probably some general cow hunts after that. Obviously, no kidso hunts based on the price. Looks like we drew 2 elk tags at full price, so at least one is early bull. At the very least we drew one early bull tag and one general cow (that we hoped would be in the youth hunt). At best, we've got two early bull tags. Looks like we'll have an eventful fall. God bless.

I know a guy who is always looking for reliable workers. It's hard, dirty work but an honest paycheck. Requires travel. -
Wow - awesome video, and 3 for 3 on some amazing rams. I really get how chasing some of these non-native species can become so exiting. I never thought about Auodad as such an awesome trophy ... until now. Great job. I love your videos.
-
Are you willing to ship, or local pick-up only?
-
Yes and no - with a paper application, if you apply for both Jr. and general hunts, you have to include a check to cover the more expensive general tag. If the youth hunt is drawn, you get a refund for the difference. When applying online, They charge you for the actual cost of the drawn tag.

I came across this while checking out some YouTube vids of shed hunting - They find some great sheds, but check out the closing scene, around 13:35. Kinda different, eh? What happens on mountain, stays on the mountain.

Hey, thanks guys. Now it's time to get it done, or have a great time trying. I truly appreciate your support.

As a UofA alumni, I just can't follow their sports teams. It seems every time they make progress, they find a way to stick an ice-pick in their ear and shove real hard.
-
Now THAT's funny. I wonder who else got the context. Nicely played, sir.

Wow - that's compelling. -
Looks like an engineering masterpiece - shoots darn well too, from those groups you posted. Is your wife jealous yet?

Another vote for the Leupold Ultimate Slam. They really did a great job matching that scope to modern muzzle loaders. Have one on my Knight long range hunter, and absolutely love it.

You guys are smart, and this probably goes without saying, BUT...The Affordable Care Act, also known as Obabacare, is a thinly veiled attempt to get you to disclose as much about you, your family, your beliefs as possible. And any information you provide WILL be used against you, by design. You will be asked by your doctors about whether you have guns, how they are stored, history of depression or anxiety, the types of prescription drugs in your home. This isn't a false flag. People I know closely are in the middle. Government taking over health care is right in line with them taking over our education system and our banks. I am so grateful to our soldiers and what they have sacrificed so much for, but my fear is, these men and women who have given so much, might have done so in vain. Ask yourself this, if we truly live in free country, just how free are you? Are you free to decide who you marry? What about what you eat, the kinds of things you can and cannot do on your private property, the education of your children. I'll put it the other way, name one thing you are FREE to do as an American that is outlawed by the most oppressive governments on earth.
