  1. My boys have grown up and two of them have Diamond Razor Edge bows I'd like to sell. Honestly, I don't know what's the current fair price to ask. These have been great bows and have a wide range of draw lengths and weights - perfect for young, growing hunters. They are in great shape and used only for 3D shoots and some bowfishing. If interested, shoot me a PM. --Update: Here are some pictures and more details. They both have upgraded TruGlo sights. One with 3 pins, the other with 4. The original sights are included as well. One has the original "3-brush" style rest similar to a wisker biscuit, but 3 separate brushes the arrow rests on. The other has a prong-style rest from one of my previous bows. I have the wrist straps for both, but one is missing the bolt & washer to attach it. There's a spare arrow holder too - not sure where it came from. I'm thinking $250 for both, and will throw in an actual wisker buscuit rest if interested. Thanks, Jason
  2. Hey guys, sorry it took me a while to get to PMs. I haven't been on CWT as much lately. I've responded to all and updated the original post with pictures and more details.

    30-06 load

My best 25-06 load so far is 117 grain SSTs with 50 grains of Hybrid 100v. Have also done well with IMR 4350 and 115 grain Combined Technology bullets.

Whats the Worst Archery Antelope Hunt?

I think 5A would be tough with a bow. Some great bucks but very little contour or cover in a lot of it. Seems like a hard place to get in archery range. 3B North at least has stalkable areas where the goats hang out, just don't get too close to any "abandoned" trailers out there - they probably aren't.

    2A - trophy unit?

+1 Beautiful buck. I do love hunting antelope, but there's nothing I love more than bulls in the rut in Unit 1. My goal is to really scout hard and get it done opening weekend in 2A, then have all the time I need to focus on the elk hunt. Thanks again.

    2A - trophy unit?

Thanks guys for all the replies. The end of the goat hunt overlaps the beginning of the elk hunt so it's not a "one or the other" situation. More just trying to determine how much of my allotted time off to allocate to each hunt. I'll probably do opening day & the first monday of the antelope hunt and then the rest on the elk hunt. For sure opening day and the whole last week when the rut is usually in full swing.

    Lets talk boots

I got some Crispi Wyoming boots this year and I'm very happy with them so far. All the support of my Mendl perfekt hunters but more breathable and little to no break-in.

Lion attack on my trail cam?

That is AWESOME! Sure looks like a lion attack to me!
  9. Hey guys, my son is looking for a good reliable pickup truck, probably in the $6-8K range if possible. I know his preference is an older F250 7.3 but we've only been finding very high mileage in that price range, so I'm really open to any good deal on a quality truck. Doesn't need to be pretty, just reliable and well maintained. He needs something he can take wood cutting. If you know of, or come across a good deal I'd sure appreciate a heads-up. Thanks, Jason

You would have to ask the person who started this thread to answer that question.

Looking for a good truck for my son

Thanks, much appreciated! For the right truck there's some flexibility.
  12. 6 cylinder, 124K miles. Hard top, great tires. Asking $5500 OBO. The red & black interior doesn't really match the white & tan exterior, window handles need to be replaced and there are speaker holes in the doors. Overall, it's a cool jeep, runs and drives well. I can provide more pictures if needed. Located in Lakeside.

So sad to hear of his passing - prayers and condolences to his family.

    Pistol load developers?

My own personal experience with pistols is that in almost all cases they are inherently inaccurate. To the point where load difference would be such a minor factor compared to grip, stance, trigger pull, I'd imagine less than 5% of top pro shooters would see a difference in loads (short ranges, etc). Not bashing you firstcoues, but outside a platform like a T/C contender that's actually designed to shoot longer ranges, it would be hard to convince me that load workups would affect normal pistol shooting to much degree.

    Hard Times

Had a tag in that unit not long ago. It took 19 years to draw, and I can say the quality and quantity are way overblown.

Does everyone have their popcorn ready??

trpyhntr, that is totally unrelated to this thread. If you want to discuss this via PM, I'm open to it. If you want to start a separate thread to discuss it, I'm open to it.

Does everyone have their popcorn ready??

I will gladly eat my words if he is proven innocent. But as I stated before, I as an individual am not subject to the kind of burden of proof that the government is in order to imprison someone. Where there is smoke there is fire. And I have to say, you reap what you sow and Blake has been nothing but a loud mouth narcissistic jerk since showing up around here. He has been asked, counseled, advises and reasoned with by a number of very respected members of this site and has been a disrespectful cuss at every opportunity. I hope he goes to prison and we never have to read his vitriol again. Seeing the hurrendous filth that his brother spewed out over the past few days just confirms what everyone has felt for a long time. I believe I am a reasonable person, and really havent ever had a real problem with anyone on this site, but this creep has taken advantage of every opportunity to troll, berate, hate, swear and treat many members of this site like dirt. I spent an entire summer placing trailcams womdering if they would be stolen because he spent time in the area, because of that I never posted any of my pics. The fact that we have to go to those lengths to avoid a member of this site because he confessed to stealing cams, after he had been accused for a long long time. So Coach, I appreciate your level approach to this and have a lot of respect for you, but please understand why so many of us arent waiting for the years this will take to grind through the justice system. I know this isnt Christ like, but I hope this is a particularly miserable experience for him. I know this guy is, well not respectable, not a good guy, not an ethical person, not an ethical hunter. But all I ask is that before we rush to judgment, we know at the very least what he's been charged with, and what factual evidence we know. I like rumor mongering about the same level as I like poachers and thieves.

Any specifics yet? If he's been charged, what were the specific charges? There's a lot of innuendo - could be shot with a rifle on the rez and moved and arrow inserted for photos. Please, if anyone has the actual facts behind the charge, I'd love to hear what is actually known about the circumstances that led to this thread.

Does everyone have their popcorn ready??

Wow, had to read this whole thing from start to finish. If I missed something where this guy was tried and convicted, my apologies. If not, then what I see are a bunch of people spreading gossip without facts. Don't get me wrong, I'm not defending him, and I'm not condemning him. First fact: We don't know the facts. Second fact: Guilt on social media is way more swift than actual legal determination. Third fact: That was an amazing buck that had us all interested in some way. If this buck was poached in any way, then I hope to see full justice in the form of fines and loss of privilege. On the other hand, if it was taken legally, there's a lot of folks who could owe this guy an apology for storming the gates with pitchforks and a noose before the facts came out. I love this site, and have been here for a long time. Usually the people here are level-headed, treat each other with civility and respect. The last few months, I'd have to say the general tenor has gone down a different path. Lots of the kind of anger, disrespect and vitriol I've seen ruin so many good sites. Respectfully, I'd like us all to sideline this one, and get back to the things that brought us here in the first place.

    Bad Neighbor

Things are slow around the campfire this time of year. I just got a really bad neighbor, just had my second fight (argument) with him. I know how I'm dealing with him but what kind of things do you guys do when you have an absolute douche bag move in next to you?

    Bad Neighbor

Funny thing is, my neighbors on the other side have been here forever. We've never had a cross word. I don't know where these transplants come from or why they feel entitled. The folks that have been here for years are the kind of neighbor you dream of.
