Just drew a unit 10 archery bull tag! Got excited and started looking through some memory cards from last season from a different unit. These bulls started on this salt lick before mid April. They used it weekly and sometimes daily up to the end of August. 23 total different bulls. Just a reminder to get your licks up and going. Enjoy the pics.

congrats on your first archery success.

It doesn't take 5 years to get the dark patch. I'll "shut up" now to satisfy Mr. Goodman. My apologies Jeff.

Re-read my post boys. I didn't say it's not a coues because it looks similar to another rack or rack configuration. It's a unique cool looking rack and looks a lot like the one in a magazine. I was stating just because a deer has close bases doesn't justify it's species. "Here's an "eaterner" I shot in Michigan (which is not that far from Kansas) close to 20 years ago. Note that its bases are not close. Also note how the eyeguards on my buck do not seem to come straight up from the bases as do those on that head. " - Bill Q. Bill - You have a nice WIDE racked buck pictured. Of course the bases are not going to be close together - it's a WIDE racked buck. There's plenty of pics of narrow eastern w/t's with bases extremely close together that form narrow racks. Jeff - sorry to question your buck. Please post a picture of the body prior to you cutting the rack off it so the issue is resolved and I can eat crow. Without a pic of the entire deer I stick with my opinion. There have been people all over the place lately (past couple years) selling eastern bucks as monster coues deer. I've personally seen 2 in Bullhead City, 1 in Rye and 1 in Albuquerque. All with the same "scalp" cut with brown hides. Sorry about my skepticism.

I'm with Brian on this one. That's an eastern w/t. Narrow eaterners grow close bases. For those of you who are members of the huntin fool look at the resemblance of rack configuration on this buck to the buck from Kansas - it's pretty cool to compare the two. Cool buck.

what swaros are you wanting?

Currently, I can't think of a worse arrow on the market than the easton flatline - especially for elk. I've killed elk with several different set ups and my favorite is easton FMJ with a 50gr brass insert and a 100 gr NAP Hellrazor.

can you put custom logos on them?

"Obviously some one who places salt out in December doesn't know much about deer." Finally, Gearsnagger made a valid point! 1 in 120 posts. The rest of his posts have been verbal diarrhea.

my bows the past 5 years: 1) Mathews Outback 2) Mathews Drenalin 3) Mathews DXT 4) Hoyt Maxxis 31 5) Hoyt Alphaburner 6) Bowtech Invasion 7) Hoyt Carbon element RKT 8) Mathews Helium I liked something different on each of these bows. Probably shot the alphaburner the best. Killed the most with the drenalin. Right now, I have the helium and element. I absolutely love the helium. Mathews finally made a winner again. Good luck finding your perfect bow. I know I never will!

Strings good on Hoyt Carbon Element RKT?
azpredator@work replied to Kelco's topic in Bows, arrows, broadheads
I have the same bow and have always ordered winner's choice immediately. I have 700 shots through the bow and have not experienced any issues yet. I wouldn't worry about the string until you start seeing some issues. I have my winner's choice ready to replace this one when time comes, but if I can get through a year with this string I'll be content. -
which insurance co do you have?

That's an awesome buck for sure. Please post some more pics for our viewing pleasure. Can't see where the measurements are coming from with this pic. Congrats on a great trophy. -
I'd like to get my son a shotgun for christmas. Needs to be camo or synthetic as it will be abused. 12ga with screw in chokes is preferred. If you are thinking of selling one please let me know what you have. Thanks, Wade

2012 Mathews Heli-m Video Review
azpredator@work replied to sneekfreak's topic in Bows, arrows, broadheads
I liked it well enough we had to turn the truck around and go back and buy it for my son before leaving the city. Very nice shooting bow and mathews finally did something for me to buy another bow from them. Won't be too many complaints about this bow. -
Not enough info to be sure, but based on what you have stated I would set up on the trails in the saddle. Making sure prior to set up I understood the deer's traveling pattern to properly get into the area undetected and what the wind is most likely going to do throughout the day. If the wind is unpredictable I would set up in a ground blind rather than a tree stand. The large amounts of droppings indicate the does are using that other area for bedding. Sounds like you may have found a good spot for the rut. Put cameras out and remember if the does are there the bucks will be cruising through in January. Good luck - you'll get 'em...

awesome pics - thanks for sharing

looks about average right now as to what I'm seeing in growth. Looks like the same buck, but you never know until they gain some character.

That's one of the best designed boxes I've ever seen if not the best. All my areas of concern have been addressed. Great job - I'd buy one!
