After a few missed opps over the past three years. I finally got a mule deer bigger then all the spikes I've seen. I've seen lots of small mule deer and missed a couple big ones. I'm happy with this guy, on day 6 especially. I know the picture sucks but I hunted by myself and didn't bring a camera. This is the head ready for caping in the back seat of my Ford when I got home. At least now I can move on to a big guy. Shot was 480 yards with my 270 WSM. Spotted him with my new Vortex 15x56 Kaibabs. I think its my new equipment added to three years experience that did the trick. Nah...it was God.

Savage .338 Win Mag.....Wow its cool. Stock trigger and limbsaver is nice. Only 500 or so dollars. Not a long shooter, but packs the punch to take em down no matter where they get hit. -

Anybody ever call a bear in with a foxpro caller? I tried for a few days and didn't see anything, thinking the bear may have snuck in and left before I even saw him.....lol Any hints on using one of these to call bears? Thanks!!!!

Go north. stay up on the rim. They're everywhere but I like the forested area. They will usually be pretty quiet by now.

Hey bud! These are great, but are a little large. They're good for prescout at home on the wall. You can also copy parts of them with a copier so you have some smaller maps. They have all water marked. http://huntmap.com/
