not a monster, but this is my 12bw buck... little 3x3 I seen some of the monsters that were dropped after mine... dont get me wrong i like my buck, but i should have held out a little longer, the tag is good for BIG buck.

Well, it seems things got off a little slow and bucks started moving around after the snow. Not sure of the full impact of the fence just yet... some nice deer starting to drop. I saw some good teams of buddies workin together to find the big bucks. I had fun watching the rut kick off and the buck run the doe around... I ended up taking a 550 yard shot and dropped this little buck with a heart shot in his tracks. I originally set out solo to find a legendary 200" monster, but couldn't stop myself from taking this buck... buck fever I guess. Good buck, but this tag is good for some monsters if one can be more patient, and take some buddies along for a team hunt. Cool tall buck tho, I like him! We'll see how the season wraps up...

http://www.muledeer.org/mdf-supports-us-89-paunsaugunt-deer-crossing-project 11.5 mile stretch of fence, with 6 under pass tunnels for them to use... should save about 100 deer a year they say... We’ll see..... This might be a good year to go after the az deer coming down from the trees... instead of the Utah bucks... time will tell. i could easily get pissed that this had to happen on the same year I drew the tag... but instead, im staying positive... or should i say hopeful

i"ll be in 12BW also for the late hunt... i wounder how much this will change it up this year.... http://www.muledeer.org/mdf-supports-us-89-paunsaugunt-deer-crossing-project like you said, it'll still be fun figuring it out.

anyone have any photos of this fence? I'll be up there hunting in a few weeks, I'll post some info and pics on what i see. maybe theres some chatter on the Utah forums or game and fish about it...

take your bino's on your next round of golf... i would say yes, there are deer that hang out at golf courses that back up to hills or other habitats that hold deer. IMO i dont think you will find many shooter bucks, more so spikes and forks... and every so often a forky that grows up. go scout, maybe put up a trail cam...and show us what ya see

nice buck... i have a 12BW tag this Nov... can't wait!!!!

what are you going to get instead? I think some 10x42 el rangers will pair nice with the 20x60x80 scope...

I tell you what folks... Dale at Wild Heritage Taxidermy did a great job on my Velvet buck. just finished last week, you can see photos of him finished. I chose to use his summer coat, ragged as it may be, it’s the buck I harvested and I love it. one thing I can say to everyone hunting in the heat is be prepared. like Dale said in many of his posts, keep the hide cool and keep the velvet antlers cool. Dale uses and sells a preservative that should be applied right after you take the animal, and it helps maintain the hide and prevent slippage – Dale maybe you can expand on the product I’m referring to as I forget the name of it. Anyway folks, take a look at my (otc archery tag) buck taken last August in the 90 degree heat. Dale preserved the original velvet antlers and hide. It was important to me that they not be flocked and the hide be from the buck I harvested. I couldn’t be happier with how my trophy turned out. BIG thanks to Dale and Heather at Wild Heritage Taxidermy!!
