that sucks. sorry to see that. one thing i do, its a pain in the tail but i do it anyway, is i keep some of the cheepo cams around and i mount them up high and out of sight facing down on my high dollar cams... anyone ever takes one of mine i hope they're ready for the rath... even tho i hike and i think im out of range from most people, it just takes one person to find it and its gone. just some thought...

Like alot of you guys, my first choice is my bow- Mathews McPherson MR5. But when I use a rifle I shoot my Steyr pro hunter 300 win mag. Its beded with a brake, hand loads, Leopold... shoots like a dream, stacks'em up way out.

ive seen 4 groups of doe, each had a smaller buck with them... havent seen any BIG boys pushing them around yet... im sure some of the higher elevations are more active up north. This weeks chill and snow should tip the bucket and get them up moving right! im not much of a sothern state hunter at this point, i stay mid-north-east state mostly.

yeah... i was hunting gen bear and that dude stood in front of me for 20 mins... to bad archery was still a few weeks out.

i always keep an eye on the Moultrie website, the "internet specials" page... a few months ago they posted the D55-ir's for $29... so i picked up 8 of them. they work good and if i loose one im not too upset. now i can put 2 or 3 on the same tree facing all directions... or whatever i want. i also keep a few high quality cams for my honey holes... http://www.moultriefeeders.com/specials

Im feeling a little pumped for my 10/24 tag in unit 23... I've always been a archery hunter for coues and this will be my first coues rifle hunt. Anyone else have the fever! ?!!?

Good news is this was our elk for sure, bad news is someone already skull cap'ed him and took the rack.... just an update.

I think there's over 400 tags for this 7 day hunt... I hope we all find our little slice of coues!

Thank you to BC777, and like hunters for assisting fellow hunters in a situation like this. This could have been, and might be, the bull my family shot. If it wasn't for good people and good fellow hunters, the shooter of this bull wouldn't have a chance. Regardless of the spinoffs in this thread, hats off to people like BC777.

it was last Saturday, not yesterday, so yes no hope for the meat. Its always hard on hunters that loose an animal like this. It gets to'em, not to mention giving credit to the animal. I also hope this is the same bull!!!!

Closes tank to me was Bigler tank. I was filming the hunt for a family member, not my tag tho.

6x6 bull hit in lower right gut and out somewhere on the left front leg or shoulder area. East of xxx and xxx area, well past xxx wash. Shot Saturday morning, tracked him over 2 miles and it rained and lost him. I can give more details if needed. I have video of the bull and shot.
