Scott, Great story and pics. Thanks! Jeff -
They don't list all details. Usally statistics include "children" up to the age of 19-20 and don't seperate gang shootings in the total.

I work at Northern Arizona University as a Fire Protection specialist/Fire Inspector. Before that I worked for a fire protection company that installed and serviced mining fire suppression equipment. Scott thanks for the picture of the equipment in the pit it brings back some dirty, sweaty coal dust memories. azyoung

AZ bird hunting question
azyoung replied to Kilimanjaro's topic in Small Game, Upland Bird, and Waterfowl Hunting
Hey Doug, I have hunted above the snow bowl and found some birds usally 2-3 but above the weatherford trail I have seen more birds. enough to make the hike. I think the last few years have been to dry. Some of the tanks and springs are dry but I hope this years spring was wet enough help the bird numbers. If anything it's a great view and a good way to prepare for the coues hunt! Jeff -
AZ bird hunting question
azyoung replied to Kilimanjaro's topic in Small Game, Upland Bird, and Waterfowl Hunting
If you like hiking I have hunted them on the San Fransisco peaks. I just skirt the timber line but haven't hunted them in the last few years. azyoung -
AZ Game and Fish cashed my checks last week but have several buddies that have checks that have not cleared yet. If they clear I assume that you are in the draw, no mistake on the app? azyoung

This buck was shot on the 2nd day of the November hunt in unit 29 by my friend Cactus Jack from bisbee. As a group we went 6 for 6 bucks. My buck was not worth posting. azyoung

Thanks for the congrats, Unfortunatly I upset a member of my hunt group by posting information about our hunt and giving the unit #. couesdiehard I think he is mad at you too. So for his sake I have a correction to make. The unit we shot this buck in was unit 42M eastside. So you guys asking where in 29(oops!) 42M we hunted I probably should not give out this information. I posted the buck because I know you guys would enjoy seeing a nice Coues buck. I seriously doubt posting this picture will result in a flood of applicants to that unit. This great web site is full of awesome bucks shot all over this state. I had a great hunt last fall and enjoyed the unit but will it will not be my first choice this year. Thanks again I will pass on the congrats. azyoung

Josh, Nice picture! sorry you guys did not get the lion. Looking at the picture I recognized your Father, years ago I felled timber with him - Blue Ridge Timber Fallers. I dont know if he will remember me but tell him Hello from me(Jeff Young) and Cactus Jack(Matt Fredrieckson). Thanks! azyoung -
Deer,Predators,and Drought
azyoung replied to Manamal's topic in Miscellaneous Items related to Coues Deer
Manamal, I totally agree with you. With lions and coyotes "they are all guilty" I try my best to reduce the population any chance I get. As for the drought it seems this year we are in a good winter pattern 15+ inches of snow this morning with more to come! azyoung -
Peterson, Thanks for the update and photo's. Great buck! I hope your Dad will get back and fill his tag. Did you have a tag or just helping your Dad? Congrats! azyoung

Hello Couesdiehard, Yes Lee this is Jeff. How did you know it was me? Hey had a great hunt with Riley. saw a lot of deer. mostly mule deer. He worked hard walked his rear end off. We stalked bucks every day, but would not get the shot or Riley would pass due to the distance. The last day we glassed a small coues spike at 180 - 200 yrds. and he dropped the buck. He was so excited he could barley walk to his buck. The little guy is having a great first year elk, pig and now his first coues. He also has a spring turkey tag in 12A. I will post some pics for Rileys deer and our 29 hunt. you need to see Matts buck. Lee have you posted pics? Also "coyoung" will join soon. I will e-mail dates on Rendezvous Take care, azyoung

Mike, We saw two herds in the Jr. hunt the first week of December. We hunted in southern end of the unit west of Arivaca Rd. at mile post 7, the first real set of hills N/W of the dirt rd. 1 -1 1/2 miles from pavement. In the valley behind the highest hill. Good luck! azyoung
