I have a buddy that lives down in southern AZ that shot a mule deer and hung it in a tree hiked back to his truck to get his pack when he returned he saw a lion was eating the hind end. Walked beck to his truck grabed his rifle and went back to his deer and shot the lion. azyoung

Great pics Stanley and Tommy! Stanley I have had the same year. I did not fill a tag but had the best hunt season ever with my son Riley. Already praying for some tags for him this year. Travis, you mentioned fire suppression as a factor. I think the USFS has more blame on low deer numbers than any lion or any other predator. USFS = 100 years of miss-managing the forest azyoung

Hey just a lion question. Do lions in Arizona differ in size acording to region? Like are the cats in southern Arizona larger on the average than northern cats? Just curious. azyoung

Kinda sad looking. It looks like a fance behind the lion and the first shot looked like he was hit in his lower jaw. They also could use some running practice shots like at a coyote running in on a call. azyoung

I had that hunt also. It is a very hard hunt. Did you notice the proposed November archery hunts will start 5 days after the rifle deer hunts end. azyoung
