Well I know its not a Coues but my Son got his buck back from last years Jr hunt. He was drawn for 36A and plans to look for a nice Coues to place next to this guy azyoung

Hey Thanks for the nice comments! I have been hunt AZ all my life but that hunt last years with my Son was the best ever. I have created a ?huntin addict? He is so excited for this years hunt. We hope to run in to all the CWC members that will be on that hunt. Allen the buck has a 25? spread. Stanley I look forward to getting more info on Jr. Camp. Last years camp was great! Same thoughts couesdiehard. The AZG&F is definitely looking for quantity not quality. They should have had a comment section at the end of the survey. I also agree with bmf1321 get rid of the on line application! azyoung

I?m by no means an expert on bullets and ballistics but I would agree with .270 I really like the hornady 140 btsp. My son shot a nice muley last year and loved the performance even on a poor shot. 1st shot in the back hip bone and we recover most of the bullet. The year before we used the Barnes solid bullet on his elk and he hit the elk 3 times 1st in the liver, 2nd high in the front shoulders and finally center spine. The cow just stood and took all the hits. When we gut the cow the hits looked like we pushed a pencil through the liver and front shoulders. Small hole in and small hole out. azyoung

pretty nice bulls, seems the drought had little effect on them. No ribs and nice "backs" for some young bulls. Thanks for the pics!

First time in 30 of hunting AZ I got pinked for evrything. First time ever pinked on deer Good side of the story my 13 year old son got 36A Jr, 23 Elk (cow) and 23 Turkey. Conrats to all! azyoung

Natural lighting caused fire is good but not in an unhealthy forest. A life time of bad management has cost us plenty. The USFS has spent a lot of our tax dollers to screw up the forest and now they spend millions to stop catastrophic wild fire that they are to blame for. Az has been in droughts before but with over grown forest and years of fire suppression has change AZ and will take a lomg time to correct. Hoplfully by some organization other than the USFS. azyoung

AZ Native 43 years Grew up in Flagstaff. Left for three years in the service - USMC, KMCAS Hawaii Just love AZ Sorry to see so many people move here. Not much wild country left. I remember spending several days in the outback and never see anyone. Now it seems you always run into someone messing around. I love watching the sun rise is southern Az glassing for Coues or watching a snow storm blow in on the Strip tracking Mulies. Still a great state I will never leave but will always look for new secret spots. I love taking my son to the same places I hunted when I was his age azyoung
