Optimistic for December?
CouesBuckhunter replied to CouesBuckhunter's topic in Bowhunting for Coues Deer
It looks as though the rut may be coming early. Most likely I'll be chasing the rutting muleys. Good luck to everyone. The Coues have been pushing a lot this past week, checking does -

If anyone else is considering getting some here's some videos of their performance on various animals. I always find it helpful if I can actually see a product performing and not just pictures. A couple Bear Hunts

Has anybody tried out the covert ca4? I could not find any reviews online about them. I am interested in it as well as the M6 so I am just looking for the pros and cons. Thanks!

Does anyone know any fur buyers in AZ or in the southwestern or western us region? Thanks!

@Becker, I've seen this several times and it can be a pain, especially the week leading into a hunt. I was watching a nice buck about 6 years old and some times he would be with a group of 2-3 year old bucks then other days he would be by himself. I Also noticed that the real old bucks, the big ones past 110, tend to hang out with a buck around their same age as well as a doe. Not sure why they hang out with a doe but that's what I've noticed over the years.

I've been using the moultrie M-80s. They are real small and have great pics. The night pics are the best Never any white outs and it gets a great range; I never have any night pics where I can't tell what the animal is or what kinda buck it is. They have great battery life, run off of 8 AAs but can also run off of 6 if need be. If you look on amazon you can find them around your price range of $130, I picked mine up at $122. Though I am not sure how they compare to the coverts. I've heard great things about the coverts and might pick up a CA4 in the near future.

I had one nearly exactly like that on my trail cam last year. -
I took two foxes the other day, the 1st one I called in by lip squeaking - it took him about 35 seconds to come in. I dropped him at 8 yards. Then, on my way out, I spotted another fox in a cut digging up a critter. I snuck into 10 yards and shot him. Fox hunting is a blast because they are suckers when they hear a call.

The furs came out great. Especially the bobcats. I worked all of Saturday and all of today to get caught up in all the furs. Talk about a long weekend.

Nice!

The lip squeak is proving to be deadly, I lip squeaked in a yote on my way to school the other day as I was unlocking our community gate. I have never had a coyote come in so close to me before, it was absolutely unreal. After school I went out and lip squeaked one in nearly right as a put my hand to my lips to lip squeak. He came in from behind me in under 5 yards and saw me, left, then came back and I shot over his head with the bow because, in all of the excitement, I forgot to compensate for the downhill shot.

Congrats! I am going to purchase a FoxPro Firestorm near the end of the year. I have heard too many good things about FoxPro. Right now i am running an old rigged up cassette caller and hand calls.

I've been doing very good with a simple lip squeak. Called in 2 foxes and 2 yotes in couple days doing it. -
Congrats! Did he have unit 34a?

Neat guy, I'm surprised he hasn't rubbed yet.
