Lance, if you report your cam stolen and give reconyx the serial number once the guy sends it to them to have it reset they will seize the cam and turn him over to the cops. Because their cameras are as highly valued as they are it is considered a felony and they will be prosecuted. This is what they told me when I called about my cam being stolen. My Internet timed out when I registered my cam on their site so no serial number was kept, instead they had me send them a picture I had from my reconyx and they extracted the serial number from the picture. No other company can match reconyxs customer service. And unfortunately no one has turned my cam yet...

That's an old reconyx rc55. And I'm sure he doesnt really care about it being secure in the lock box because it has codeloc on it. You can't operate the cam at all unless you have the code, unlike the coverts which only keep people from changing the settings unless they have the code. That is if h set it up with a code..

Well said Lance, that's why I keep my mouth shut anymore, even with the ocelots. And I have no doubt that you are 100% right about the "C" Spot tom and his range.

So far it is just that one tom. And he has been spotted quite a bit in the Rosemont area from what I have heard...I doubt it will shut the mine down. Lance, I think addicted is an understatement. lol!

Got my Bobcats back from Cole at CMC Skullworks. One was a female that I spot n' stalked. The other was a tom that I had called in. Cole's work surfaced an abnormality in the tom that I hadn't seen when I skinned him out. Makes you wonder what happened to him. I'd like to think he got a swift kick to the head by a deer! hah

2 cams stolen does any one know this set up?
CouesBuckhunter replied to Buckhunter's topic in Trail Cameras
Spypoint makes a cam that sends the pictures to a storage box wirelessly that you hide. It's like back up. And there are no payments like there are for the other wireless cams. -
2 cams stolen does any one know this set up?
CouesBuckhunter replied to Buckhunter's topic in Trail Cameras
anymore I focus on hiding the cam more than how hard I make it for them to steal them. They'll get it if they want it. But they cant get it if they never see it. -
Got my 2 bobs and 3 foxes back from CMC Skullworks. Detail is absolutely amazing, there's no way anyone can ever get these results by boiling.

nice pics. Nice fronts on that bull too.

BRAND NEW Badlands H2o 2200 Pack. It's never even been out of the bag. Arrived only a few weeks ago from Badlands so it hasn't been sitting long at all. I'm asking $240. PM me if interested.

All the ones I've seen lately have lost their head gear. Most have little velvet bumps starting. But I did see one the other day that had 3-4" already and looked like it was starting to branch it's eyeguards.

Just a genetic variation. I have seen many like that. As well as one that was black tipped and mostly white on the outside. This made him look like a muley in the glass. It's what makes these critters so interesting and exciting to check the cams.

October Coues Hunt vs December Rut Hunt
CouesBuckhunter replied to AZ Ground Pounders's topic in AZ Ground Pounders Outfitters Blog
Nice work. Great bucks. I agree with you on the hunts. Quality bucks can be found during both hunts. Bigger bucks give themselves up during the rut if it happens to be going during the Dec hunt, most of the time the rut doesn't get popping for Coues until Jan. On the other hand, if you have a buck sighted October is the way to go. They are extremely patternable. Looks like you guys have had that figured out for a long time. Good job. -
AZ Ground Pounders Coues Deer Management
CouesBuckhunter replied to AZ Ground Pounders's topic in AZ Ground Pounders Outfitters Blog
Seldom Drawn, there is no problem with the ethical hunters that need the meat or young guns that are on their first hunt. No problem with that at all. The people I am referring to are the ones that kick up bucks and light up the hillside like WWII, most of the time putting several shots into the deer as it runs. I see it every single year during the rifle hunts. Usually it's a few people together walking the hills and once they kick out a buck they commence shooting. If I had a nickel for every time I've seen a buck be wounded and not recovered because of this or for how many times I've heard of this happening I would be a rich man. IMHO I think if someone is shooting at deer like that they don't care about the deer just about filling their tag. If they did, they would spend the time to find a buck and take an ethical shot. -
Swhackers for bull elk? Updated testing..
CouesBuckhunter replied to TOBY's topic in Bows, arrows, broadheads
Swhackers were solely designed for elk and tested solely on elk in the beginning. -
AZ Ground Pounders Coues Deer Management
CouesBuckhunter replied to AZ Ground Pounders's topic in AZ Ground Pounders Outfitters Blog
Nice write up. I wish this was the mind set of mostly all az hunters. If it was, we would definitely have a lot more deer out there and a lot more quality deer. Sadly this mind set is very hard to convey to some of the hunters that just care about filling their tag and that's it. I have set trail cams in my hunting spots late last year to get rough predator and game counts. Then I would set a hit list # of predators that I wanted out of the area. Dec through to the end of fur bearer season I hit my # for grey fox in the areas the quail population was going bad. Now, after the new hatchings, there are quail everywhere. There is also a spot that used to be good for muley in the past but is just over run with dogs now. I set the goal of a dozen before August to help with the fawn survival. So far I'm at half of that goal and that's from just bringing the caller and the .243 while I'm out checking cams. Just little things like that really help the big game and game bird populations. -
awesome! I've never been lucky enough to find any sheds that close to salt.

do all bucks get big with age
CouesBuckhunter replied to couesmagnet's topic in Coues Deer Hunting in Arizona
Too many factors to actually answer the question for sure - one can only theorize. I have seen very very old bucks that reduce to gnarly little 2 points. So one would think a buck hits their prime and regresses each year after. Lots of muleys I have watched that are old tend to get smaller as they get older. They will have wide bases and then get thinner as you go up the main beam - this is a supposed sign of regression. However, I have watched bucks that never get better than a two point but their frames get a little bigger each year. There are a select few that have giant leaps in antler growth each year, but they seem to be few and far between. Take Devin's buck for example, he may have gotten bigger next year, he could have stayed the same, or he could have gotten smaller. There's no way of telling unfortunately. IMHO I think Devin would have been a mad man to pass that 127 buck and wait for him to get bigger the next year. With that said, I think if you had a big buck in front of you that is what your looking for, take it. You will never know what his antlers will be next year or if he will even be there. -
That definitely looks like lion. Kill him!

Saw this in the news awhile ago. It's ridiculous. Here's a link to the story - http://www.outdoorhub.com/news/peta-aims-to-spy-on-hunters-with-aerial-surveillance-drones/ Unsurprisingly, their plan is being thwarted already. Check out what happened to their drone when they flew it over a pigeon shoot - I see the point that this could catch poachers and other illegal activity but that fact of the matter is that this will, and already has, harassed ethical hunters that abide by the law.

Is there an adapter out there that can connect a dslr to my Swarovski 15 binocs? I've been looking but so far nothing.

I wouldn't dare use another for any of my cameras. I had an expensive can stolen because I used one. All it is is a wire cable. A thief just needs a wire cutter and a little bit of time and Kazam! He now has your camera. Best bet is to use lag bolts and a chain.
