Shot quite a few greys over the years but never in the snow or with the iron sights. Those two things have been sort of mini dreams of mine. I was given the opportunity yesterday with the new fallen snow. Textbook style stand. Came in exactly like predicted. 38 yards chest facing me. Very cool experience in the snow.

I finally got a great pic of a nice coues buck!
CouesBuckhunter replied to Pixman's topic in The Campfire
How far out was the buck? Just trying to get an idea how much a 300mm lens would get me out to. Running an e mount cam so not very many focal ranges available.- 28 replies

Predator Shadows Promo
CouesBuckhunter replied to CouesBuckhunter's topic in Predator Hunting and Trapping
Unfortunately no, was running solo and my dad had the camera with him out chasing deer with the bow. -
It was filmed last year during the HAM hunt. Just forgot to share it with you all.

Finished my last final yesterday evening so I decided to head out for a quick stand or two. Had this cat come in at the 8 min mark. Biggest female I've ever shot!
-
Fox have been tough this year. Haven't called double digits yet. Called in almost more bobcats than fox this year so far.
-
Cat was shot at around 430 but I used my .22 and it trotted off a bit so I gave it time before looking. Last thing I wanted to do was push it if it wasn't hit good.

My pops and I went out for some javelina huntin yesterday. Dogs were going nuts so we set a quick 10 min stand. For whatever reason it is not letting me attach the link so I am going to just type it out: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oO3XXDZOjP0

Archery Yote!!! (VIDEO)

Yeah the link function is not working for me on this site. If you type in Swhack-a-Yote into google or Youtube it should pop up. If someone finds it and can link it that would be much appreciated. -
Set a quick stand before Javy scouting yesterday morning. Called this double in. One big male and one super old female. Also found this nice muley shed .
-
I was using my foxpro, you can sort of see it in between the yotes. Used a cottontail sound. Calling the low thick stuff it's good to have the sound in front of you because the yotes will often come in from behind. Used hand calls for awhile but had too many coyotes get straight up on me and spook off.

It's an old Marlin Revelation .22lr. And thanks everyone.

Super bull! + Info $5,000 FOB shoot Out
CouesBuckhunter replied to Paul Morris's topic in Elk Hunting
Yeah she killed that bull just the other day -
Just a couple kills this week. A couple yotes I recovered and a Bobcat my buddy took tonight on our 2nd stand. 100% activity on each stand. Can't complain with that!

Exactly, a lot of people would be surprised how many animals they are not seeing that what right by their cams.

Question of Ethics

I don't think it really matters what you use as long as it results in a dead predator. -
Couple of Kills This Week
CouesBuckhunter replied to CouesBuckhunter's topic in Predator Hunting and Trapping
Adult cottontail --> field mouse to get the Bob all the way in. -
What brand model camera is that?

People are idiots. It's just a shame the habitat and the animals suffer from their idiocracy.
