when did you shoot your first big game animal

I was 10 and I shot a small broken up 3x2 muley off a water hole. I can remember how excited I was when I saw him come in. At the time I thought he was huge! After that I went on and shot 2 nice whitetails/elk/pigs/etc. with a rifle then, as a kid still, decidede that I didnt want to deal with the ringging in my ears anymore from the rifle shots so I started bowhunting in 2009 (when I was 13 y.o) and as tradition shot a muley for my first archery deer. It was in 34a, late december, spotted him early in the morning and stalked him and his 11 does all day long but with no sucess. Finaly before dark I gave it one last try and he made the mistake of walking behind a set of cholla that had an opening in it. He was a 2x4 muley. He didnt make book so I am on the journey to get a record book muley come jan. -
Yea same here. I just bought the new moultrie that has this feature and I have a reconyx that has this feature too. I attach a note to my security boxes that say it has codeloc so the thieves dont bust my box and figure out its worthless and then bust my cam.

No tag here, filled my archery jan tag. But my mom has the 34a tag again this year. Last year I found a decent 3x3 for her and she got it. Was a great hunt. Hope to get her on a bigger buck this year and create some more great memories and photos in the photo album. Good Luck to everyone who has a tag.

I bought mine before they had the sale so it was $100 after tax and shipping. The night pics were awesome, daytime pics were very poor for 3mp. And the sensor wasnt triggering until i was directly in front of the cam. Wildviews cost about the same and give you better options, like 1,2,3 pics per triggering. Yet the WGI is small and uses AAs. I have seen a deal on a stealth ccam thats of better quality and features for the same price that I had bought the WGI.

wondering if these patches are typical

I have seen the same thing also. It only happens in august as I have seen. I do know that in august there hair and skin is very thin, Im sure that has something to do with it. Bitting bugs make have something to do with it also, im not 100% sure on why it happens. -
I have a few of them they are good for the money. night pics are not that great but heck for $70 you can't beat it. Where did you guys get them for $70?
-
I have just ordered one myself off cabelas for about $80 but it was $98 after tax and shipping. Its smaller than i expected, easy to set up. I had set it in the yard and i got hundreds of pics of grass moving so i set the sensitivity of the sensor to medium. Good for the money, ir is better than I had expected too. Daytime pics could be alittle bit better but than again its a low priced cam. Its perfect for setting up high in a tree because it is very small and you access the memory card from the bottom. There isnt an option for how many pics it takes per event though. There are alot of pros and cons with it, I may see more cons because Ive grown to accustomed to my Reconyx HC600. But overall its a good cam for the money, better than any other cam on the market for that price.

Just thought Id post this. This is my second Archery Black Bear.I put in over 30 hours in the stand but never got a crack at this big black boar or cinnamon bear. Finally yesterday at 7am he came in for a drink, perfectly broadside and my PSE BowMadness XL sent a Swhacker tipped Carbon Force arrow right in the sweet spot. The bear ran 15 yards up the side of the canyon before falling back down, he died literally within 5 seconds. My dad captured it all on video. Hes the bear I wanted. He's 350+lbs, and has a solid 19inch skull. Funny thing is that my dad had to leave for the airport around 10am so everything worked out perfectly.

Great bear! What unit did you whack him in? What time did he actually come in for the fatal drink? P.S. Did you have fun skinning him out? 35b,7am,and skiining him out was fantastic, trying to get it all done so my dad could leave for his flight in time. The meat, my pack, and the hide and head were a good load for a mile hike out. -
+1 for the SWHACKER +100 for the SWHACKER! The SWHACKER has never failed and was designed FOR elk hunting.

Here's a collection of mounts I have. My family dose our own taxidermy to save money and just to enjoy the art of taxidermy. I just got into actual taxidermy last year. This is my last rifle kill, 2008. This was also my first coues mount Id ever done. Heres my first deer I shot. I made a felt lining on the skull plate. Lastly here's some pics of a buck my mom shot, my dad mounted it.
