Extreme AZ Bear Hunts
CouesBuckhunter replied to CouesBuckhunter's topic in Black Bear or Grizzly Bear hunts
Thanks for all the comments guys and the critiques are really wanted. We just want to make a hunting show that Southwestern hunters can relate to. -
first of all, on the mountain lion issue, they do not even have a clue how many cats are out there. It would have to take a mtn lion killing Arnold Schwarzenegger for them to even open their eyes on why mtn lions should be hunted.

The Rat Pack went out today to get Rick's pig tag filled. Rick was behind the camera the first week filming my cousin, my uncle, and me fill our tags so he wasnt able to fill his. So we prayed for good weather and got it this morning. We found the pigs, snuck into with 40 yards and put the swhack attack on one. He fell as the shot hit him and we decided to call for kicks and grins. We began calling and the pigs came hauling. One ran at me (the cameraman) and hit me in the legs. Another boar, after a 30second stare-off with my dad, decided he had enough and charged my dad as agressive as a full grown male elephant. He lunged at my Dad and luckily my dad wasnt bit. This was all on video and its awesome footage. Ive never seen anything like it. The video will be up on youtube asap. To find the video when it is posted go to Hunting Arizonas facebook page.

That javy skull is AWESOME! Cold you always do a good job. Can't get the quality cole does by just boiling and whitening it yourself and no one else compares to the quality and customer service Cole has.

I had been watching a big herd of pigs, 22 pigs strong, and 2 days before opening day a big ol lion jumped them out of there beds. but the next 2 days i got caught up in life and wasnt able to watch them. So when opening day came me and my dad headed out, i told him where we need to go so we made the hike to the glassing hill. we filmed along the way and once we got on the glassing hill we filmed me getting the 15 swarovskis and tripod set up, and the whole time we heard them feeding. I had just set up the glasses when we looked up and they were below us, 200 yrds from where the lion jumped them. so we re-pack and get down there. There was a finger in the middle of the canyon and they were on the other side of it. my dad filmed me easing down there and once we got into position on the other side of the finger from the pigs we dropped the packs and filmed me sneaking in. I eased over the finger and there was pig everywhere. I was looking for any pig that was big and didnt have young ones (i dont like to shoot sows), some kept walking out at 30yrds but wouldnt stay still. finally i had one walk out at 29 yrds and turn broadside, i made sure my dad was on them with the camera and i drew back, and my pse bowmadness released that ol swhacker and dropped him where he stood. The pigs all around my pig didnt even flinch, they just stood there feeding. so my dad handed the camera over and got an arrow knocked as the ol boar walked down at 25yrds and fell as my dads pse axe sent a swhacker into his lungs. I got this story in too late because i got caught up in school. this is a pic of some in the herd, took it through my swarofvskis at a mile out my dads pig my pig

1st October Rifle Hunt
CouesBuckhunter replied to CouesBuckhunter's topic in Rifle hunting for Coues Deer
thanks...we will have the video up soon. -
My Mom, Peggy, had the 1st October Rifle Hunt this year. After locating many bucks we focused on how we were gonna make the hunt interesting. Since Extreme AZ was filming the hunt, we decided to be creative and use the PSE Tac 15. That crossbow, as its called, is as near to a rifle as a crossbow can get. It was sighted out to 140, pushing a 500 grain arrow, including a 100gr Swhacker, at 400fps. Then came opening day, I skipped out on school to help my mom and we were pumped to put a bolt in a nice 95+ buck. At dawn I was behind my Swarovskis watching that ol buck and his buddy, a 2by. Everything started to fit into place, my Mom got set up in the saddle and the buck, as luck was, came on a beeline to her and my dad who was videotaping the hunt. In all the chaos my dad didnt see that the buck moved alittle closer before my mom shot, so the arrow cave him a clean haircut. later in the evening we found him again, but unfortunatly ran out of light, so we backed off. The next day, with the help of a good friend, glassed the whole area but were unable to find him again, but, in the evening, my Mom passed on a 75inch 3x3. So with nothing in sight we moved to a new area where we saw many bucks and 2 decent ones we made a stalk on ,but, like Friday evening, ran out of that precious sunlight.By that time my Mom, who has tremendous knee problems, was running out of steam and felt as if she could not make it another day. So we switched out the crossbow with the 243 and my Uncle and My dad went out to the area to search for those 2 bucks while she gave her knees a rest. Like clockwork they found those bucks in the same bachelor group they were in when I watched them in the pre-season. I got my mom and made the stalk, slow and steady was our pace as we made it through the nasty and rugged canyons around pesky does and herds of constantly woofing and fighting javalina. Finally, we got into position. I got the camera ready and my Mom awaited the buck to walk out from behind the brush. As he did he stopped, turned his head towards my mom only to recieve an accuratly placed bullet in the chest. I think I was more excited than my Mom, hehehehe, but all in all it was a great hunt and Im grateful of my Uncle and Jimmy for helping us on the hunt. I'm also very proud of my Mother who, despite her knee problems, pushed through and gave 120% all throughout her hunt, she earned that buck without a doubt.
