I've helped out at a few taxi shops on my own animals to learn any tips or tricks they have. I also try to cut on as many animals as possible wether they are a stranger in the field needing help or a buddy that just doesn't want to. I've practiced on everything from squirrels/rabbits to elk. I've skinned out several cow elk heads that were going to be thrown out just for practice.

I quit checking once 5 PM rolled around and at 722 PM capital one sent me a text for a pending $34.75. Should be an early December coues hunt for the second year in a row.

I ordered a couple forms catalogues from van dykes and foster so I could try to decide what I want done with a coues I have in the freezer but neither of them have coues forms. Does anyone know which company carries them?

Thanks guys! I also heard there is some one in tuscon that has coues forms. Is that any of the ones that's been mentioned?

I've seen antelope in the pines twice this year in 5A. I've seen them in the pines in 7 and 5BN before but this year was the first for 5A.

I wasn't able to make it to the meeting last night but I did watch the phoenix meeting online that had about 55 online viewers I believe. Here is a little bit of my opinion for what its worth and some questions I have about the presentation last night. I understand that G&F is a business and businesses are out to make money. I can't fault them for that because there is no such thing as too much money and realize that prices always go up on any product or service being sold for any length of time. When you look at the slide in the presentation that shows how the expenses to run G&F has gone up it is pretty obvious that they are going to have to raise the prices. Everyone should be able to understand that gas prices have gone up and they are claiming a 40% increase which is understandable. My family has two companies that I manage and I know that Obamacare almost put us out of business with the required insurance we would have to provide for all of our employees, so the 69% increase for employee insurance is also understandable thanks to Mr President. I do think the price jump is a little steep in some parts of their plan but these prices are not set in stone yet and will hopefully come down a bit. I do like the new license structure that includes the urban and two pole stam for only an extra $3 but I would like to see them send out an actual license when I purchase one online instead of having to print one out. (Regular paper just doesn't last in my wallet) I don't like the premium hunt being implemented, but it sounds like from the meetings it should be shot down unless the commission over rides our thoughts and goes through with it anyway which he could. There are a couple things that I was wondering about that I didn't hear mentioned. First off, I didn't hear anything about OTC archery deer. Will the December and January OTC hunt prices be raised if the premium hunt plan goes through? I am assuming it will stay the same but wasn't sure. Second, The speaker last night showed the slide to compare our "concept" prices to the other states which looks like we would take the lead for highest prices and the speaker kept saying that it is hard to compare us with other states but I did not hear an example on why it is so hard to compare us with other states. Then he showed the slide that shows how many elk tags are given out per state and we have the lowest amount of tags among the 7 states. Again he emphasized that it is almost impossible to compare us to these other states with no example. Since no example was provided the only example that came to mind was that we have to sell our tags at a higher price because we have less product to work with. I understand supply and demand, but could it be that our G&F is working outside their budget for the product they have? ........just a thought that came to mind....... I usually don't like posting in any of the controversy threads and I am not trying to defend G&F or choose a side to get me blasted for saying anything, but I thought I would throw out my thoughts on this one.

Curious to know if you're in the same neighborhood as us now. I know we got rid of one thief in our neighborhood and I haven't left anything at the cabin since we were hit once but I would like to know if there is another thief to watch out for.

I believe the same thing happened last year. I went and checked the lake last July when I heard they were selling the water and it was the lowest I had ever seen it. My buddy was there two weeks ago and said it is full again but I am assuming they are going to use that water up again this year!

I don't know anything about the southern units but I am curious to know if the southern deer will drop earlier than the northern deer or is there no difference? We seen 5 coues bucks carrying last weekend in the north country but 1 had dropped one side so far. Also seen one muley carrying 1 side.

Hunted it last year on my brothers archery tag. He stuck a pretty good bull and we searched for about 4 days to end the hunt and never found him. He drew the same tag again this year so hopefully he can make it happen this time. I really like the transition areas but we spent most of our time in the pines last year.

Heard a few gobbles saturday and sunday morning. Seemed like all the birds we heard only responded once to an owl call early. Nothing would answer a gobble or a hen call. and we seen 2 lone hens and one lone gobbler. We did drive up on one gobbler strutting next to the road with 5-6 hens while changing spots. Not sure why he wouldn't of answered when I had just let out a hen call about 200 yards down the road before we seen him.
