I will assume this is a .45?

I will take this. Just too good of a deal to pass up. Contact info sent via PM.

Add Couesdan to the list of reliable Buyers.

I own two. Like 'em better than Leupold or Vortex. Bought my last one from Big Supply. They are GTG.

Another A+ transaction for MattMan. I bought a Slik tripod head from him. Smooth transaction. Item was exactly as described.

I've got one extra, unopened bag (50 ct) of Winchester brass in Rem 7mm Rem Mag. So far, it's been pretty good stuff. US Priority mail to your door for $60.
-
Go to www.shoot-long.com. They have Norma brass for sale. It's expensive, but much higher quality than Remington brass. I haven't seen any bulk Remington brass in 300 RUM for several years now.

I saw one or two for sale over at longrangehunting.com. They usually go for $1,300 to $1,400 used. That Cabelas sale was a nice find.

Any trades?

I'll take the one that is top row, third one in from left. PM sent.

Reside in north Phoenix area (near Tatum & Bell). Work near Thomas & Central. Can meet you half way if located in valley. Could also ship via US Priority Mail.

I cannot see how zeroing a reticle in the scope helps when attempting to zero the rifle. In my may years of sighting scopes for myself and others, I have come across several rifles where the holes for the ring mounts were not aligned exactly parallel with the barrel. I guess it is a good place to start when you are sighting in a rifle where there is no bolt to be pulled in order to bore sight.

Couldn't find much info on the internet. How much does it weigh and how long is the barrel? Match barrel? What kind of accuracy is this thing capable of?

This guy has some new Norma brass. Just bought 200 pieces. Quality stuff. Will probably be gone in the next day or two. www.shoot-long.com/products/long-range-accessories-norma-reloading-brass-300-remingtom-ultra-mag-100-pcs

Just got back from vacation and was able to check my cc. No deer or BHS again this year, but I did get a $25 charge for Fall turkey. Since I only put in for Unit 1 - the excitement is over for me. (Except for the leftover permit list).
-
Any trades? Also - is this an A-Bolt model and do you remember twist of barrel?

I've got one kicking around somewhere. I believe it is for helical fletching.

I've got one in helical somewhere. Get in touch with me tomorrow and I will see if I can find it.

You say your limit is 500 yds, but I'm betting with a little practice that will be revised out to 800 yds. :-) You might get more relevant advice by giving the readers some price parameters. Most will tell you what you already know or suspect - glass is not the place to cut corners. This is one arena where you get what you pay for. Expect to pay at least $700 for a scope that will give you great glass with consistent, repeatable turrets for dialing. Some that come to mind are the Leupold VX-III series, the Sightron SIII series and the Vortex PST. The next step up would be a Nightforce NXS or Vortex Razor ($1,400-$1,600 used). Nestled in between would be the Nightforce SHV ($900-$1200). These are the scopes I am most comfortable recommending.

You don't mention what caliber you are loading for, but RL-33 could be a great alternative for the bigger magnums like the 300 RUM or the 338 Lapua. It meters similar to Retumbo and generally gives better velocity. And unlike the other RL powders, it has not shown much sensitivity to temperature. I am currently using it in both calibers mentioned above.

I built a 300 Whisper (forerunner to the 300 Black Out) nearly 4 years ago on an AR platform. First and foremost: it is designed to be a sub-sonic round. It has enough versatility to be a decent big game rifle at distances under 300 yards when loaded supersonic (think 30-30 Winchester type ballistics). When used in an AR configuration, it helps to have an adjustable gas block so that the rifle can cycle both sub-sonic and super sonic rounds. One problem the 300 Whisper or Black Out have is unreliable expansion when using rifle bullets on game at subsonic velocities. There simply isn't enough velocity to start expansion, so the bullets either 'pencil' through, or go 'banana shape' and tumble. While the latter result is often deadly on game, I have found that the best bullet for the 30 cal subsonics is a specialty bullet made by Outlaw Bullets. Their 220 grain bullet leaves my 10" barrel at 1,020 fps. It expands well and still provides great penetration: http://www.outlawstatebullets.com/2.html For supersonic rounds, I use the Nosler 125 grain Ballistic Tip. It leaves the barrel at close to 1,850 fps. As you can see, the 300 Whisper/Black Out is not an ideal big game rifle, but its versatility as both a sub-sonic/supersonic rifle cannot be overlooked.

Buckskin is GTG. Nice young man. Bought a pistol from him with a simple: "I'll take it". He held on to it for a couple of weeks and then met me in Phx for the exchange. Smooth transaction. Deal with confidence.
