Questions on wildcats.
goatsie replied to CJ Long range's topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
I am a HUGE wildcat fan, however I would do plenty of research before having a reamer and dies made. There is likely already a wildcat with the parent case or specs similar. I would go to accurateshooter.com and ask around. I would put money that what you are trying to do has already been done, or there is a reason why it has not been done. I am all for innovation however! -

I would call PTG or JGS if you have dimensions or a concept and they can make it. I would call and talk to them however, most likely there is already a reamer that has been made for your wildcat. -
Did you chrono? Or are these book velocities?

The modular design is the real benefit of a chassis system. It is not about the appearance of an AR, but the ability to utilize the multitude of AR parts.

This is a like new Tikka T3 lite in .243 with original rings. I bought it recently and have just been focused on other projects.I will take $510 with the Alpen 4-12 scope. Here is the link for the scope: http://www.opticsplanet.com/alpen-kodiak-4-12x40-wide-angle-multi-coated-water-proof-riflescope-2050.html

I may do that as a partial trade, what pattern is on it?

Pics and scope added.

Where you located?

Tikkas are excellent donor actions, I would put them over a 700 or savage. Aftermarket components are the only down side.

6.5 SAUM or 300 Win mag I still haven't decided. This will be my first deer hunt with suppressors, and I am stoked!

Still sitting here.

Alright guys I have never used trail cams before, but I am thinking I wanna drop a couple for an upcoming hunt. HOW DO I KEEP THEM FROM GETTING STOLEN? Are there settings that do not have a visible flash? Is it all about hiding them? I will not be on private land, but will be way out there. Any advise would be appreciated!

Do the new dark led or IR work for night shots? And do humans not see it too? The reason I ask is I will be hunting close to the border and don't want illegals jackin my cameras.

I use the K&M hand primer, but my forster press also has a primer that works surprisingly well.

Send it up again. If anyone wants a trade deal in their favor I would trade for a ruger american predator in .243 of 6.5CM......crazy I know!

Which 6.5 for a short action?
goatsie replied to rcdinaz's topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
This is what I would recommend too. The OP's bolt face wont work but that is an easy fix with a new PTG bolt from Midway. I have one waiting for me at the smith and I can hardly wait. Plus, factory brass will be available this fall from GAP. Lemme know if you need any help setting up brass! The brass is a pain to set up initially, but once you get all dialed in it is simple. -

goatsie good timing I saw this one pop up while doing some reading today. I couldn't find what the COAL would be if I were using the 140's? would this or the WSM cycle in a 700 SA? I can't say as I have just been using 130's. -

6.5 SAUM easily one of the funnest rounds I have fired. Just a flat shooting low recoiling beast!
