We are not in Tucson as well. but don't overlook the taxidermist from other parts of the state. Taxidermy is an art form that you need to look at the artists work and see if you like it enough to have that piece hand on your wall for the rest of your life. When you look at a taxidermist's work, look to see if the animal looks alive, look to make sure it is clean and soft looking. don't look at antlers, they have nothing to do with the quality of the mount.

If you are refering to the wrinkles in his face, those are the masserter muscles and the zygomatic arch. In the summer time the hair and skin are so thin that the underlying muscles are more easily seen

Just completed this velvet Mule deer

Well I just got out this morning for dove. I couldn't get out the first 2 days. I shouldn't have been suprised to find yet another part of OUR forest closed. This time due to damaged road. closed from Aug. 30th to Sept. 30th.(Just in time for Dove season.) The closure I'm complaining about is the Needle Rock, Box Bar closure just north of Rio Verde. Sand has washed over this road for as long as I can remember, early 80's when I got down here. When will they have the back bone to call it what it is, "They don't want anyone on THEIR forest, Close it all and use any excuse they can" The only damage to the road is the sand washing over the road at the wash crossings. It's not that bad maybe 2 inches of sand on road. Why did they just spend Millions of dollars to update the needle rock area only to close it soon after? Same reason as to why they spent millions on a new road and gate into Lower Sycamore only to close it soon after? I have no idea but I believe it all comes down to close it all, then it won't change and we can all enjoy it from afar. Sorry for the rant but I feel better now

the sign says closed road, due to road damage. but goes on to explain the area that encompasses numerous roads. ie starting at the intersection of road x and y southerly along road y to etc. etc. and includes another acess point to the river that is 1/2 mile from the road with damage.

This is a classic example of how our forest and wild lands will get closed and off limits to anyone. They use the excuse that we need to close after a fire to protect the fragile enviroment and we all fall for it. then once the iron gates are up, no more access. Think about all the areas like this. How long ago was the diamond fire? if you have been back in there you will see that the forest has long since grown back. ITS ALL ABOUT CLOSURE. now they dont need to spend limited resources to patrol the area. When the new road and iron gates went up at lower sycamore I told my son, "watch within a year these gates will be closed and never reopen" Oh look gates closed due to fire and flooding. what? flooding in a creek bottom? what has the world come to?

I just recently picked up my new McMillan Dynasty in .300 Win Mag. The feel and the fit are superb. The action is smooth, the trigger is like no other that I have shot. I was a little reluctant to get it in .300 win mag as I am slightly recoil sensitive, but Kelly McMillan talked me into a muzzle brake. (I have a muzzle brake on another .300 and I hate it. It is so deafening and I don’t think it does much for the recoil). I don’t know how they did it, but the recoil on the Dynasty is equivalent to a .243 and isn’t much louder than a rifle without the brake on it. My first 3 shot group was .5 inches and I shot a 5 shot group of .85 inches. And that was off an unstable shooting bench. I can’t wait to shoot it off a stable bench and rest. This is definitely my new favorite rifle. This rifle is worth every penny. If you are considering a true custom rifle, you owe it to yourself to talk to the guys at McMillan. We were packing the trailer to head to SCI in Las Vegas and we took this picture prior to loading. I thought you might enjoy it.

I will be getting a new rifle soon and I'm mixed on what caliber to get. My hunting is for deer,elk,black bear,antelope, the usual north american speices. and plains game.(sounds like an all around rifle) I would like something in the 30 caliber as I have others already in the sub 30 caliber. The older I get the more recoil sensitive I get. and I hate a muzzle brake. My sons tell me to man up. The distanses I plan on shooting are out to 500 yards. What are some of your opinions on these 2 calibers?
