I say leave it the way it is....I've had plenty of game spooked by rifle hunters in the past. Bottom line is it's Public Land, you're going to have people out there with you, whether it's hunters, hikers or just people out riding on their quads. Congrats to your wife on a fine first buck!

I'm going to pull the trigger on a Nikon Spotting Scope and I haven't decided btwn straight or angled? I've always had straight in the past but I wanted to hear some opinions from people that use angled. Thanks!

You shouldn't have any problem putting them in the side pockets unless you have an unusually large tripod or spotter. I have the Slik Sprint Mini and I have no problem at all with room to spare.
