  7. "I___________, do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; and that I will obey the orders of the President of the Untired States and the orders of the officers appointed over me, according to the regulations and the Uniform code of Military Justice. So Help Me God!" I saw this posted on another site, and thought how appropriate this is for today. It has been 51 years since I took that oath and boarded a bus for Ft. Hood, but I would do it again if need be. This is the oath that all servicemen and women take when they enter into our military services. They are all aware when they take it that they may be called upon to lay down their lives for their country. This ultimate sacrifice has been made for this country since the Revalutionary War! As you celebrate this day, please remember those who have given the ultimate sacrifice, those who have served and returned home, and those who are serving in harm's way today. Their willingness to serve guarantees you the rights you should hold close to your heart! Hopefully our young people are being taught to honor our country, our flag, and the Servicemen and Women that guard our precious freedoms! GOD BLESS AMERICA AND GOD BLESS OUR VETS PAST, PRESENT, AND FUTURE!
  8. You can start arriving no earlier than 7 a.m. Don't forget a camera, potluck dish, and drinks for your group and if you plan on buying if you see an antler you can't live without some cash. See you all there early. Going to be a great day, and hopefully the start of an annual event.

    Directions to AZ Antler Fest

Amanda, Josh is correct. Alan sent me the directions to post on another website and the mile marker numbers Josh posted are correct! Hope there is a great turnout. The Ellsworth barn is at the end of the road (Pearce Lane), so you can't miss it.
  11. Hope you guys and gals are seriously considering attending this event. Anyone that loves to collect, hunt, or just enjoys viewing antlers should see this collection. Don't forget to bring a potluck dish and your own drinks as mentioned above. Alan and Shelly are hoping for a good turnout!
  12. Josh is right, a camera is a must! I have seen this collection several times, and it is not just the antlers but the way he displays his collection that is spectacular. If you have never been blessed with an invitation, your jaw is going to drop when you walk in. Alan is a great person to know, and I know he and Shelly will be great hosts. TJ this is worth taking a day of sick leave. LeRoy Price

    Missing Boy Scout Globe area

The base camp is at an area known to locals as "Timber Camp" There is a sign on the highway showing where to turn. You turn left off of the highway. It is a favorite camping and picnic area. The Gila County Sheriffs office is over the search. Their number is 928-425-4449. I would call them before I head out to see if they still need help.

    San Carlos 3/15-16/11

Fished Tuesday, from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. with two friends, and caught 73 Crappie. Most were caught on BBC. We fished over 20 ft. to 15 ft. of water trolling. The afternoon bite was best. My friends and I fished yesterday morning from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. and caught 31. We fished the same area as the day before. Some of the bites are so light that if you're not holding a rod, you won't realize you have a bite. Good luck and keep your bait wet..............LeRoy
  19. 3/10/11 My daughter and I fished San Carlos Lake for Crappie. We wound up with 27, some pushing 2 lbs. Most were caught on BBC and JD. We fished over 14-17 ft. of water, trolling our jigs only about 3 ft. deep. Talked to a guy that caught his on OC. 3/11/11 We fished half a day at Roosevelt for Crappie. We fished the buoy line first across from Schoolhouse Point with no bites. Then we went up the Salt River and trolled. Most of the people had two. One boat had three. We wound up with 1 Bass and 2 Crappie. We were using BBC and JD. Good luck, and keep your bait wet............LeRoy I will be giving a Crappie Seminar tomorrow, March 13, at 1 p.m. at Bass Pro Shops. Hope to see some of you there!

San Carlos Lake 3/10/11 and Roosevelt 3/11/11

YOUNGGUNZ, I always use two 1/16th oz jigs to a line. I use a BBC (black, blue, & chartreuse) 2 inch grub on the bottom jig which I tie on with a Palomar knot. I slide the top jig up about 18 inches above the bottom jig, and put a JD (John Deere) 2 inch grub on it and tie it with an overhand knot. Sometimes I will use an OC (orange crush) grub. This is how I rig my line most of the time. I hope this helps you out. Good luck, and keep your bait wet.............LeRoy

    San Carlos 3/4/11

Two friends and I fished San Carlos for Crappie. We started fishing at 9:45 a.m. and quit at 2:45 p.m. We only got 9 in the boat and lost several more. It was slow for us. Most of ours were caught on BBC and JD. We only caught two on jigs tipped with minnows. The wind came up around 12 and made it a little more difficult, but wasn't too bad. I apologize for the late post, this was a busy weekend. Good luck, and keep your bait wet...............LeRoy

    bass fishing techniques?

copenhagenGDIB, a good way to learn is to join a local Bass Club. Since you live in Snowflake, the White Mountain Bass Club would be a good one. You can also learn a lot from a one day trip with a Guide as well. You can learn more from a good Guide in one day than in a month on your own. Also, you can gain a lot of knowledge by watching fishing shows, taking notes on what equipment they are using, under what conditions, and then trying it yourself. Also go to free seminars. The Arizona Nitro State Team gives them on a regular basis year round on the 2nd Tuesday of every month at Bass Pro Shops. They will be giving them next Sunday as well, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Bass fishing as well as Crappie fishing. The schedule is by the turn stile at the front of the store. If you go to www.aznitroteam.com you will see we are all tournament fishermen, several of whom have won championships, boats, and angler of the year titles. After my seminars I take the time to talk to people, answer their questions, and help them find any lures, tackle, etc., they may need. Also for Crappie info go to www.azcrappie.com where the Arizona Crappie Association members share their knowledge. Good luck, and keep your bait wet................LeRoy

    Roosevelt 3/5/11

We fished Saturday at Roosevelt for Bass, and only caught 11. No big fish, all were around 2 lbs. They are full of eggs. We caught them on spinnerbaits, flipping, texas rig, and drop shot. If you get it in front of them, they'll eat it. Spent a lot of the day teaching a lady how to use a bait cast reel. By the end of the day, she had it down. The Bass and Crappie should be busting loose any time. I want to thank all the people who showed up at the Crappie Seminar, we had a packed house. The next one will be SUNDAY, MARCH 13th at 1 p.m. Good luck, and keep your bait wet................LeRoy

    Roosevelt Bass & Crappie 3/03/11

Fished Roosevelt yesterday for Bass. We caught 19, the biggest weighing 3 lbs. 14 oz. Most were caught flipping worms, and a few on spinnerbaits. We fished from Grapevine to the Salt River. The Crappie are moving up the river. Try trolling at .8 mph and adjust your line accordingly. I will be giving a Crappie seminar and a Bass seminar on spinnerbaits at Bass Pro Shops at 1 p.m. on Sunday, March 6th. If you are interested in learning how I rig and troll for Crappie, come to the Seminar. Good luck, and keep your bait wet.................LeRoy

    Roosevelt Crappie 2/24/11

Leroy: I've been seeing those spreader rigs on the fishing TV shows that hold from 2-4 rods. You ever try them? Looks like you are doing great as usual..keep us in the loop. I am hoping to get to Alamo in the next couple of weeks. Don Martin Striper Hunters I think you're talking about Spider rigs, and no, Don, I don't use it. I am still using the setup I was using when I took you out. Since I do Bass and Crappie trips, that works best for me. Good luck, and keep your bait wet.............LeRoy
