Fished for Crappie yesterday on the Salt End along the buoy line across from Schoolhouse. We caught 5 with the biggest weighing 2.46 lbs, all caught on BBC over 24 to 30 ft of water. I have attached a photo of the largest Crappie caught to show the size we have been catching over the past two weeks. It was caught on 2/15/11 and weighed 2.52 lbs. Next week it should really take off. Good luck, and keep your bait wet...........LeRoy

No question about fishing or hunting is dumb! These are colors of Kalin jigs, which along with acid rain, are the most productive for Crappie at Roosevelt and San Carlos. Black, blue, and chartreuse is bbc, and John Deere Green. Good luck, and keep your bait wet..............LeRoy

After serving as the Start Boat for the WON BASS tournament yesterday, we went Crappie fishing from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on the Tonto end of the lake near the buoy line. We put 7 in the boat. All were caught on JD and BBC about 15 ft. deep over 36 ft. of water. These Crappie were smaller than what we've been catching on the Salt end of the lake, but it shows they're starting to hit on both ends of the lake. We went back to Cholla to serve as the Check-in boat for the tournament. Good luck, and keep your bait wet...............LeRoy

Nice job Brian! A lot of that Flotilla were members of the AZ Crappie Association out there for a meeting and get together. Won't be long before Roosevelt will be as hot as SC. San Carlos always turns on first. Good luck, and keep your bait wet.

A friend of mine and his wife were out there this weekend, and caught 15 on JD and BBC. I will be on Roosevelt today on the Salt End and will post tonight. Good Luck, and keep your bait wet!

If anyone is interested, give me a call or email me. Will be glad to give a demo ride if you are interested! It will be at the lake Saturday for the CouesWhitetail.com tournament.
