Thanks for all your advise and tips, I think I've been spoiled shooting deer back in Maine and VT we gut em, hang em for days and then bring em to the meat shop. It's been a long time since I've actually help cut an entire deer up. So if I'm lucky enough it will be an interesting day. Maybe I'll buy a goat and have at it before...and eat the bugger..lol

I have a Model 110 .270 with the accu trigger.......I shoot Winchester model 70 pre64 30-06, Remington 7400 30-06 and back east and out here I hunt with a Remington .243 and .270....I love my .270 its affordable and does the job well very well. I've never shot a Coues maybe this year but if you can hit a jackrabbit from 500yrds center mass with a crappy BSA scope...it'll do the trick. I'm hunting with mine this year..Good luck.

Thanks, buglethemin I'm excited about November I hope most of the people in the forum actually got drawn. I'm also bringing a 16yr kid it will be a hunt to remember I'm sure. November will be a good month for me 5th-11th here and 12th-21st in the North West Mtns of Maine. Both Whitetail but very different climates.

Well looks like my post ruffled some feathers..I wasn't looking for someones sweet spot or exact area...just general direction.. I hunt all over this state but never for Coues thanks for those who mentioned a few areas. I'll be scouting from Sept - Nov maybe I'll see some of you 6a hunters out there as well. Good luck and god bless.
