Not sure how much faith you put into Wikipedia but it looks like most or almost all the American Bison have been genetically cross bread. Some interesting information on this site things I have never really thought to look up and read about in detail. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/American_Bison#Comeback

You may be wondering whats wrong with this picture?? I left my rifle at the Cabin while joy riding looking for elk Saturday evening....(Son of a I'm actually glad I didn't have it with me because I like this picture and if I had the ole rifle it would have been a different type of picture. Thought I would share but its a bit fuzzy because it was dusk he seems to be very reddish brown to me..guess I'm use to the desert Yotes.

Thanks for sharing, I need to head to the North Rim just to see these amazing animals with the family. WoW

Got into a few snags coming home from north of Clints Well...finally got to see what was holding us up. Looks like the trailer saved the truck from going much further. Everyone needs to lay off the tail gating a bit some people are just out of control. Not sure how it happened but looked like everyone walked away even the horses.

@Rag Horn I was backed up probably 1.5hrs but seemed longer with a one year old crying in the back and a 4.5yr old kicking the back of your seat! Yahoo.

I'll probably have to spotlight at night with lots a bait maybe chum a bit. Thanks sounds like it might be another drinking spot rather then fishing spot. I'd like to see a picture of a fish caught in Blue Ridge. I think I might have to sneak up to Long again, ty again. Jim I swear you drove by me the other day I live in the NW valley around 83rd ave and Deerless valley

From what I read on the AZGFD site there is a mail in survey after the hunt..that's how you check your deer in??

A few years back while hunting at my Cabin in Maine a good friend of mine mentioned he bought a Bow on close out and was going to teach himself to hunt with a right handed bow even though he was left handed..My dad does it so I figured he could as well. Anyway to make a long story short two years later. I have a PSE Silverhawk sitting on my front porch when I got back from San Diego this weekend. It's been fired a few times but otherwise never used in the last three years I'm not even sure when the model came out. I've hunted whitetail back in Vermont when i was a kid with a 35lb re-curve so I'm not worried about 55lb draw weight just wondering if anyone has owned one and what they might recommend to add to it for Coues, Javelina. Thanks for your experienced opinion:-) Oh one other question I've never heard anyone mention this before but we use to hunt squirrels with Bows back home just for fun can you shoot jackrabbits in Arizona with a Bow with out going to jail..

I was LMAO when I read your post Str8Shot if you don't drop the toad you can drop trou and squat a grumpy on his Trophy Rock. That might make another poster right below the one of the other guy.

Heck I'm not complaining makes life that much easier. Should I keep a nut or will the head due for he drive home if I'm lucky enough to pack something back.

I've noticed when shooting my rifle out here you can say good bye to good tight groups if its 100 degrees outside when you are shooting quite a few rounds. Maybe its just me but that seems to be the way it is. I'm sighting my rifle in as early in the morning as I can here but this weekend I'll be heading to Happy Jack where its nice and cool. Good luck with your ammo selection as well. Hornady is a great brand I use it for everyone of my guns. I've shot cheap Feds and stepped to Rems then went to Hornady shoot them all with a buddies Chronograph and saw increases in speed and accuracy with each step.

Yeah it blows me away where I hunt back east you have to hang em high and they check you in. Whats to stop someone from boning a deer bringing back processing it and then headn back out and using a tag again. If you don't run into anyone while your hunting and getting it done I guess not much huh. I won't be doing it but I know a few people that probably would good thing they don't live in Arizona.Ha

I knew what you were using your light for. I've heard a lot of people use them to spot animals at night in kind of a scout before the next day. Great Idea I'm usually not sober after 7pm at deer camp...so driving at night is a bad idea for me. Hope you find the right equipment bet some of those raccoon hunters can tell ya what works really well.

Am I limited to three arrows while hunting dove!
-
I noticed the sights that come with this weapon are a bit strange they just slide into a slot they don't seem very secure should I toss those and get some different ones. I've never hunted with sights before.....I'm not above buying arrows from Walmart to wack rabbits I know a great place for Antelope Jacks 10lb plus

Another Arizona Treasure- BIGHORN-Poached
bstpeter replied to AZP&Y's topic in Bighorn Sheep Hunting
who knows if it helps but I posted it on FB. Can't stand poachers it would be one thing if you were starving and poor and eating the meat but these people pi$$ me off. -
Sitting all day out here is nice, try sitting all day in the NW Mountains of Maine where is 20 to -10 degrees....the year before my wool pants froze up and i could barely bend my legs...bring food and a book you will get it done. Thanks for the pictures they will look nice in a frame near your mount.

Never done it..its Illegal where I grew up hunting and old habits are hard to break I guess. Best flash light I have is a head lamp so I'd have to get really close...

My "Do It Yourself" Bear Hunt.....
bstpeter replied to COOSEFAN's topic in Black Bear or Grizzly Bear hunts
Great read and pictures. Glad you made it out safely to tell the story Congratulations on a successful hunt. -
I actually have the same question in a way. I hunt dove every year west of Wintersburg great place however I'll be up north this weekend near Happy Jack, I've hunted near Mayer a bit but didn't want to go that far hows the Dove near CampVerde?? Good bad thats all I need don't need anyone's sweet spot...just a simple answer. FYI I have been rained on a bit in the area west of Wintersburg and I don't mean H2O but you can still find some safe places to hunt. I'll send ya a PM with more detail if you really want to know..you'll limit out in a few hrs usually.
-
I usually hunt in Tonopah area but this year my friend wants to go and has a cabin up north around Happy Jack anyone ever hunt doves up in that area..I've never really seen anything up there, maybe we'll have to drive down to Camp Verde area. Don' forget your limit on white wingers or your plug. I had to pack sticks in your gun one morning because I forgot to plug my gun.

My blood starts to pump every time I see a great picture...good job I've never bow hunted out here in AZ but next year will be the year!! Again good job!

You can also use a small balloon at the end of your Muzzle loader if its snowing or raining. That barrel had something in it and the kid is lucky he didn't get hurt! I check my barrel every time I hunt sometimes several times a day if I've been crawling under or over a bunch of tress or brush.
