I've had friends tell me yes no problem while hunting off the paved roads and then I've been told no??? No loaded rifles in the rig where I grew up so I'm use to it but was wondering if someone on here actually knew the answer to that question. Thanks

Finally a True Deer storyl!! Here's a picture of the new world record whitetail. It was taken by the cousin of a co-worker's sister's, uncle's, best friend's, son-in-law's, niece's hairdresser's, neighbor's ex-boyfriend's oldest nephew. Reportedly it will score 2603-1/8 by B&C standard and was shot in West Texas on a really windy day, 85 degrees downhill, around a curve at 900 yards with a .22 cal. rifle. Supposedly, this deer had killed a Brahma bull, two Land Rovers and six Jehovah's Witnesses in the last two weeks alone. They said it was winning a fight with Bigfoot when it was shot. It had also been confirmed that the buck had been seen drinking discharge water from a nuclear power plant. This has been checked on Snopes who confirmed it. Honest!!! Sincerely, Barack Obama

My dad shoots deer out of a blind after farting, burping, eating candy bars and smoking cigs. Don't place your blind on the trail and make sure you can stay with the wind in a direction that doesn't blow your sent in the general direction of your hunting lanes. I wouldn't recommend doing all that burping and smoking. I personally take everything I eat out of a wrapper and place them in plastic baggies which make less noise. If they sent ya but can't see you they still may come your way movement in my opinion is something that ruins your hunt. The blind will keep you from being seen (hopefully) and you may have the extra time to get your sights on him. I'm not using a blind this year but am buying some camouflage style netting so I can use it still hunting just to block my movement a bit. Good luck

Chief Barry maybe if you posted those pictures of them trying to get your camera off you may be able to make your point better. Just sayn........"Here's the second Trail Cam Thief as he walks by, These two spent over 30 minutes trying to remove my cam. I wouldn't put their photo's up if I didn't have over 70 photo's of them trying to twist off my cam. Can't wait for episode III this is better then Jerry Springer.

Need to show those photos where they are trying to rip your camera off the tree all I see is a person looking at your camera and another one making elk antlers with wood?? Not very incriminating lets see those pictures that would make for a better argument on your side.

Phase I of the redneck rest I need to cover it with material and add a Velcro strap.

Does anyone have suggestions on adapter for the tripod for rifle use? I made a rest today with a metal U for 4x4, Door & Window Foam tape weather stripping, Duct Tape and a 1/4" nut we will see if it holds up to several shots...lol it's not a bad rest but doesn't support the weight of the rifle do they make them for standard rifles like a model 110 Savage .270???? Any advice would be great. Thanks

Thanks everyone for your replies I'm taking my homemade redneck rest out this weekend if it doesn't survive I may just have to try the claw..

Wondering if I'm the only one, you and a bunch of friends put in for the same place swear to help each other out, scouting, setting up camp, hunting together and bam Sept-Oct comes around and guess who's scouting all by themselves? All the hunting buddies who were going to expect you to support them if they got drawn have more reasons not to go then you can imagine...hmm Just need a really good vent and had no where else to post it! 6a here I come again should be leaving tomorrow morning around 4:30am. Thanks for letting me vent CWT

My son who is 4.5 asked me for a pistol this Sunday morning, I asked him why? "So I can shoot a deer with it when I go hunting with you." I laughed but felt good that he really showed some interest and told him most people use Rifles and he wouldn't be able to hunt a deer with a pistol. His immediate response was, "This Boy Can!" I almost fell over laughing. Have a great time with your daughter that's going to be great. Hope she makes it longer then I did the first time I went hunting with my Dad I lasted about 2hrs before my toes and fingers where frozen and I started talking a little too much..we left early bu I still remember everything from where it was what the sun was like and how the trees smelled it was really the first time I had sat in the woods just looking and listening. Several years later when I could stand to sit for longer periods even If I didn't see deer I was always amazed at how sitting still for a long time would bring other animals out and how interesting it was to watch and sometimes feel them run across my legs (mostly chipmunks and mice). Have a great time...can't wait to hear how it goes.

Got the Kitty Tag.....Started buying one every year after I saw three in one day up south/East of Lake Alamo...crazy day that was...Didn't notice anyone smoking wacky tobacco but some crazy students were whacking on rocks while I was checking them out with the Bino's...it wasn't gold but they were acting like it was. It's to bad they were out there a nice covey ran right at them...I just felt funny shooting over a guys head who was dressed like Indiana Jones

WallyWorld carries "winchester 150gr Ballistic Silvertips" I like Hornady myself for loading or off the shelf but it depends on how your rifle shoots them you might have to spend some cash if you want the perfect fit and shoot a quarter size group.....if your happy hitting the 5" pie plate at 300 yrds don't waste your money any one will probably work for ya GO to the websites and check out the ammo before you head to the store if you have time each company usually tells you a bit about each bullet..makes for a great way to kill time as well. lolHornady bullets

Lots of people on here have gotten cams stolen....is there a ton of these things for sale in the paper??? Sounds like a flippn business like stealing car stereos and going to a pawn shop. I was going to buy one this year but I'm not sure I could handle a 200.00 cam getting stolen I'd freak out. To bad you can't booby trap the thing, I'd slather it in doe n heat so no one would want it in the car with them. Sorry bout your cam
