Scrape up grass, make level, lay rock, spray a preemergent 2x a year.

Depends on value of your gear and the deductible amount. Another thing to keep in mind, if you file a claim and get reimbursed for your loss and the police locate your stuff (especially gun with SN#) then the insurance co now owns your gear.

Jury service is a duty that we should proudly and honorably serve as Americans. I was a juror in a homicide case where a man chopped up a woman and scattered her remains all over the Twin Cities. That turd will spend the rest of his life in prison. Dont complain about the slow justice system when you throw your summons in the trash. I hope if you are ever victimized you get good responsible citizens on your jury who dont wipe their butt with their summons. But I know itll pain some of you to spend less time on internet forums gossiping like women if you are on jury duty. I work in the criminal justice system and have to pick juries for trial. Its frustrating when you have a jury pool of 50-75 people and after 2-3 hours of voir dire we cannot find enough jurors to seat because no one wants to serve. Then you have to do it all over again with another pool.

Great choices. You are certainly geared up now to get out there once you get a pack. I want to do a section hike of the AZ trail in october. Sections 18-21 (Superior to Sunflower). 86.6 miles. Think about something like that. The Comete Guide to the Arizona National Scenic Trail book is phenomenal. Also the Guthook app for the AZT on iphone and android is fantastic

For the awning.... I bring a couple of 5 gal buckets. If it gets windy, I fill them with water and then hook straps on both sides of awning and hook other end on bucket handle to anchor the awning solid

Outdoor cooking setup (try not to cook inside too much), a water blade to wipe off top of slide outs after a rain when retracting slide out, a digital 12v thermostat if you have analog one currently, 3m command strip hooks or velcro to hang stuff on walls, a good surge protector (campgrounds notorious for electrical problems), a clear 4 section of sewer pipe to hook to your camper so when you dump black tank you can see color of whats coming out and when its clean, drain water heater after every trip and change anode road every year. Use 303 UV protectant on awning, seals and decals and maguires premium marine wax on exterior. Use murphys oil soap and water with a medium brush on roof.

Sawyer Squeeze. Cheap, reliable, will filter 1,000,000 gallons and filters to 0.10 microns. I have the regular and the mini. The mini is smaller but has less flow. Both are great. Only weakness are the bags. I fixed that by using a Nalgene 1L bag with a 63mm to 28mm adapter demonstrated here: If you are in near freezing weather make sure to bring the filter in your sleeping bag with you to keep it from freezing which will break it.

Good for you! Backpacking is a great pastime. If anyone doesnt think weight matters, youve never hiked 90 miles in 6 days with all your gear on your back.

Are you planning cool weather trips? Around freezing at night? If you go quilt I would want a pad with a good r value. Mine is a 5.7 but I backpack a lot when temps at night are at or below freezing.

Dont get it wet whatever you do. Down + water = cold night.

This is going over my head a bit. Are you saying you don't use the quilt underneath of you and only on top? Or that the quilt does not compress as much as the down? Yes the quilt just goes on top of you (and sides tucked in). Usually there is a foot box to keep feet inside. Just make sure if you go with a quilt to get a quality, warm pad.

Also, if you are a side sleeper like me and want a down bag, check out the Nemo bags. Specifically made for side sleepers. Highly recommend! Another good source for gear reviews is Outdoor Gear Lab. Great real world tests and reviews. They review everything
