Another badass... a person I called a friend. Ron Shurer, a Green Beret medic who was awarded the Medal of Honor for his actions in the Battle of Shok Valley. I worked with him on a few cases when he was in the Secret Service Phx office. I got to know him and he never even talked about his military past of his time in Afghanistan. It wasn’t until after a long time that I learned of his war story. He died a year ago of lung cancer. RIP Ron, and thank you for your service to this great nation. I was lucky enough to get this hat which is made from a portion of his military fatigues...
