Interesting overpressure sign
Mike S replied to bowhunter-tw's topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
Not seeing any of that resolution in current catalog, so potential buyers should do their homework. https://www.mitutoyo.com/webfoo/wp-content/uploads/US-1005_Mitutoyo_Catalog.pdf -
Interesting overpressure sign

That does look like a quality caliper, but I still think the caliper by design design is unsuited for .0001" resolution and all of those I've seen show a digital readout of 0 or 5 for the 4th decimal. Are you saying yours shows .0001, .0002 etc.? Id hate for a member to buy something that didn't meet his expectations is all. Yours looks a lot like this one. -

I've seen digital calipers with 4 decimal place readouts, but they only are good for 5 tenths resolution. If you want to measure head expansion I think you should be looking at a micrometer. -

Wouldn't think so, it's actually bleeding off pressure. That is still a pretty warm load, or soft brass based on the ejector swipe. Was it the same make case as the others? Maybe more powder in that one case? I'd back off on the charge weight. Did it pit the bolt face? -

Winchester has gone back and forth with nickel plating since the 90's. They had a run of bad ones a few years ago that pinholed. -

Newbie neck tension confusion
Mike S replied to Calebwalter's topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
I think the entry taper comes into play as well. You might try flipping that bushing the other direction if possible. -

Looks like you are good to go with the .286 bushing. The reason I asked about the O.D. is based on experience with a Redding FL Bushing Die for my .308. That die with thin walled .308 WW brass would size well below the marked bushing diameter. I believe that was due to sizing over .010" in one pass. Redding cautions not to try over .004" in one step if I recall correctly. Good luck with your reloading endeavors! -

Caleb, what is the outside neck diameter of a fired case? -
Bump for a great 4 season tent. I have been using one for several years.

Was your Leupold made before 2004 or after? The threads are different.

Thanks, are they marked B/GA T* on the bridge?

Do these have the soft or hard rubber eyecups? Are the objective covers and hinges still intact? Thx Mike

Buffalo Arms has brass and dies for an 11mm French revolver. Not sure how many variations there are though. -
Martin Hunter Recurve Bow - RH - 50# @ 28" Amo 62" - Like NEW Condition!

Bump for a great bow. I had one of the original Damon Howatt versions. -
With the .308 it's hard to find a medium speed powder that doesn't work. N150 is good. May need a drop tube to fit enough in the case. I have used most of the others with good results, but try to avoid ball and double based powders.

Bump for a good cooler.

point of impact berger bullets
Mike S replied to maximus's topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
Apparently the difference in jacket thickness is enough to cause the difference. The external dimensions should be identical. -
For what it's worth the Berger Match bullets have thicker jackets that their hunting line.
