    I'm Looking At A Savage

. + 1 on that. While my savage is more accurate, I have a m77 hawkeye rocky mountain elk foundation special edition ( gold embossed floorplate with elk and rmef logo) in30-06 that is what I use for elk and bear and any other bigger game. It is beatifyl with the walnut stock and red recoil pad. I've always had a soft dpot on my heart for beautiful wood guns. It shoots 7/8 th inch groups @ 100 yards. Only don't like the bolt release mechanism that is a little chunky ruins the streamlined look but it still is a great gun. Got mine at a gunshoq new for 700 bucks. Tip browse gun shows you cam fund great deals on new and used guns.

    Central Arizona Bear

A cub you say. I don't know where you live but I once shot a nine year old sow whose only difference from that bear was a bit more fat. And as for the headshot, I noticed no pics of the wound side of the bear. Non hunters or anti hunters should appreciate such a quick kill. They may be angry, but let them stew. Without hunters,as we all know, there wouldn't be animals to hunt. Populations would almost if not completely be wiped out. Is it better to post a story about a small bear killed quickly with some not so graphic pics or a story of a giant that was gutshot and died slowly and show absolutely no pics with the bear? You tell me. That goes for hunters, non hunters, and anti hunters alike. Think about it.

    I'm Looking At A Savage

In my view there isnt a better gun you can buy in terms of accuracy or reliability that isnt a tactical or target gun. If the savage model at sportsman's warehouse didn't have the acutrigger you should spend the extra $ and get one that does have it. Tip : The Walmarts that still sell guns carry the savage 110 with acutrigger for $384. A factory adjustable trigger form if memory serves me correctly, 1.5 to 5.5 lbs. Best trigger you can get, trigger jobs included. Bar none, the savage is a serious hunting machine and you'll love it if you buy one. I have akimber, a few weatherbys, and some custom remington 700s but when Igo hunting for animals at long ranges you'll always see me reach for that trusty savage in .270 with a vortex viper scope.

    Central Arizona Bear

Congrats on the bear. I feel that strictly hunting for age and size doesn'twork if you want an enjoyable hunt. Don'ttake the negative comments badly, for Arizona that is definately not a tiny bear. Being mature often means you suck it up and have a good hunt, going home with maybe a smaller animal than you idealy would take. But who cares? That is a beautiful bear, and the Arizona Game and Fish has female limits set so there is plenty of bears to breed. Some people should find something better to do then insulting others for no good reason.

    Guess the Score Contest!

121 6/8" man I had a devil of a time getting a reasonable estimate not already taken. If I had to guess lower I'd say 118 1/8" higher 123 7/8 but I stuck mine somewhere in the middle so 121 6/8" it is.

    Ward's Outfitters 135" coues story

Just out of curiosity, what unit was that deer shot in? I like hunting the rut in Unit 32. Easy to draw since I have all those permanent bonus points from the hunter Ed program. I like that adults can take it multiples time I'm looking for a new area, though. I've only found a couple really nice deer there, but I suppose thats enough. I shot a mainframe 4x4 (yes that doesnt include eyegaurds) that had two very nice three inch drop tines. Drop Tines on a coues are pretty rare. He green scored 129 7/8 " biggest buck I've ever taken. Havent seen many good bucks since then, though.

    Unit 32

Well i put in for unit 32 again this year and am hoping to scout some new areas. I always used to hunt in the Gauluiros along copper creek, but the buck to doe ratio SUCKS there. One hunt i glassed 35 does, 2 spikes, and one nicd 4x4 that was too far away. Anyone else hunt here? In whats section of the unit do you hunt? I have hunted here the past two years and am hoping for a new gameplan.
