Access was not denied-permission was not asked. Use your judgement on how it went. Hunt went on, Bull harvested - tagged and yes, somehow a Bull was taken on public land.
-
Cooler heads prevailed, schooled in close order combat with small arms and long rifles the other cheek was turned. This is America, not a third world country. Freedom is big, let's not forget that.
-
A nice Bull was taken by a gentleman new to the game. Is this is what a young hunter should be subjected to knowing that it was a thrill of a lifetime for him what does he have to look forward to if he will run in to folks that have a narrow mind.
-
It is simple-public land. You have been scouting, putting cameras, traveling at will. Come game day, you can't move around because someone wants to tell you you can't. How hard it is to understand that. It is public land. If I want to drive through an area regardless if a hunt is going on or not that is my right as a license holder in AZ. Whether i have a tag or not is not the issue. The issue is-you can not tell me when to piss or shoot. How is that for your explanation.
-
Drove around the fella, but when individual tries to open driver door as you are driving by then what? Respond accordingly-self defense? This is what I am touching on.
-
Put it out so that everyone-tag holder in given area, bird watcher , what have you , knows that public land is public land. When individuals decide that they are going to try and dictate when and where you can travel on public land is the issue. What is it going to take to get this across to everyone. Worst case, finding someone laying in the road because they want to claim an area on public land? Access is granted on land in Arizona unless deeded private, having a valid hunting/fishing licence issued in AZ grants you that right. Let's hear it.

Nice, hunter was able to recover his trophy. Have seen dogs used on hunting channel in the bush on hunts in Africa to recover game. Plus 1 on letting Game Officer use your dog, class act.- 29 replies

Has Anyone Deer Hunted Mount Lemmon Before?
chico replied to CouesHunterAZ's topic in Bowhunting for Coues Deer
Anywhere in the great outdoors of Arizona that is public land and accessible by road, trail, etc. is going to get used. Whether a hunt is going on or not does not make a difference, it is public land. Some areas get more use than others. What I have done myself is get away from the roads, trail heads, etc. = more quite time so to speak. In order to get there we all travel public access. Just my humble thoughts on this, wish all tag holders best of luck and stay safe. -
what would you do? i need some advice!
chico replied to KILLDEER's topic in Bowhunting for Coues Deer
If this is public land hunting and you are there before anyone else hunt it. First come first served is spelled out in hunt regulations under ethics. Suggest having a copy of it with you in case it needs to be referred to. Best of luck to all tag holders this hunting season. -
I have come across cameras,quads- side by sides, camps, tree stands, etc. in my travels while out and about that were unattended and have left them alone. It is hard to understand why any individual would think that helping themselves to anything not belonging to them is acceptable. Unfortunately it is what it is--No Respect or Integrity. Just a reflection of the person and the life that they live . What goes around comes around in it's own way. The better folks still out number the sad few that choose that way of life. Best of luck to all the tag holders this hunting season.

Thought about this one for a while. Had similar thing happen on an archery bull elk hunt. Ground blind existed on water hole, was old and run down, I spruced it up a little few days prior to hunt. Went to check it out opening day afternoon and it was occupied. Was fixed up a little better actually! Did the right thing and never approached. Solution--went in earlier the next day. When the hunter--I assume that occupied it previously approached-I stood up and let him see me. He reacted accordingly, waved and left. Last time I checked, it is called public land hunting. Same as going to a sale at the store. You were there yesterday-sale started today-someones in line in front of you. You going to tell them to get in the back of the line because you were there yesterday? Everyone needs to respect the "first come- first served theory" . The clashes that are occurring here online and out in the field are doing no one any good. Respect and integrity is going to turn the tide. Just my humble thoughts. Wish all tag holders best of luck, stay safe and happy hunting.

I own an 02 F350 4x4 with 7.3 . Never had any problems pulling the toy hauler loaded . Just like anything else, do your maintenance accordingly oil-filter changes ,air- fuel filters, pay attention to your gauges, use cetane boost. Temps in Arizona are harsh on auto transmissions, replace transmission oil after hard pulls. It's cheaper than a transmission. Your transmission will thank you. The best thing--I don't owe the bank. Happy motoring! -

news.central.com is web site, poll is on right bottom corner of page when you pull it up. Please let all your friends know to vote NO second option on poll. Deer and javelina herds stable. Been to preserve a few times. Tony's write up is right on the money. Let your voice be heard--vote NO. -
I recommend you contact Arizona Cold Air 480-733-0845. They replaced rooftop unit for me and did a great job. They have an ad in AZ Republic newspaper page A-6 Sunday edition. The workmanship and warranty is a good deal. The owner of company came out and looked over what needed to be done, recommended the right unit for the house and job was completed as estimated. Pleased with the work.

quick check to eliminate electrical side of system. open air filter cover and spray some starting fluid or other flammable spray into housing. don't use a lot,refasten- close air filter cover and crank engine. if your engine tries to run and dies after burning what was sprayed in, you have a fuel delivery problem. good luck.

Dodged a bullet thanks to Broken Aarow Archery.

+ 1 on that. Robert has hooked me up plenty of times. All my bows-arrows have been purchased thru him. Bow Techs. Does good work, very thorough, would recommend getting your bow needs done with Robert. Support the small shop-- Broken Arrow Archery. -

That is what everyone that has a hunt in 5 B south is going to have deal with. It's a sad day for all individuals that are going out with tags for hunts be it deer, elk, etc. Kind of frustating that roads are closed and not posted. Verbage on this issue from my understanding is if you are out there you need to know what is open and closed. I myself requested a Motor Vehicle Use Map from Coconino Forest Supervisor office . Comparing map to regular forest service map of Coconino- not good. Total crap! Going to use a mountain bike I guess to access places I used to be able to get in, park and hunt. Really blows! Best of luck to all.

Hope all goes well for you on future hunts and just getting out in the great outdoors. This weekend is going to be interesting in 5BN and 5B South. We chose to stay home instead of trying to find a nice camp spot in 5BSouth like we usually do. Hope folks that do go out post feedback on how road closures and camping next to the open roads will influence going again or not. When hunt time comes the highways are going to resemble a really long parking lot. Anyways wish all that do go out, to have a good and safe time. Remember all those that gave so we all could enjoy this weekend. God Bless.
