The Grey Ghost can go by any name you want to call it I guess. Just having the opportunity to match wits with them is well worth being out in the great AZ outdoors.

Beautiful morning today, looking out front door 4 Peaks covered in snow. Can't see the Sierra Anchas but hopefully they have same dusting of snow . Stoked for the morning hunt tomorrow!

Just wondering for you late tag holders what has been your observation on the activity in the different units. Have been out in 23 and just have not seen the big boys around. Plenty of small guys --whitetails-- and a few nice mulies pushing the does around. Seems to me that the temps have just not dropped enough to get them going. Hopefully this next front coming in turns on the light switch so to speak. Anyways best of luck to all that are fortunate enough to have the cherished tag in this month of December. Have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

This cat coming out and speaking pro hunting benefits us all. He has far more status so to speak to reach out and make a statement on hunting just for who he is. Just think of the folks that will get on board because he digs hunting. Need more guys with that kind of stature to get on board and reach out to the masses--take a kid hunting-- starts from there and lives on.

Congratulations on a very nice Bull. Glad you were able to get it done. Was up there week prior scouting and saw some nice bulls. Again congratulations.

I would recommend them. The benefit we have seen from them is your south facing windows won't let heat in when shutters are closed. Ease of looking out when needed, just a little touch and they crack open as needed. You will have to adjust set screws once in a while to keep tension on shutters so they don't open involuntarily . No big deal to do that . Shop around and you can find a decent deal. As for cost depends on what you decide to get. All I know is the wife is happy with them, everybody happy in this home !

The option to vote is yours and yours alone. As for someone ( federal worker )checking out your early vote--the envelopes are sealed. Cut out the middleman and drop it at your local post office if mail is picked up curbside. It is everyones opportunity to try and make a difference in the outcome of these elections. Whether it is an early vote or day of. Get out and vote.

Public land will always have folks out and about. Regardless of where you are at. Music no different than the constant shooting.

Shoot what you can shoot accurately. You have two rifles to choose from. Get on the range and find out what suites you and go with it. They are both capable of filling your tag.

That blows, agree with most everyone else on this. Your pack is worth every dollar you have put into it and then some. Hope you can recover it somehow.

Congratulations on filling your tag. Any elk with an arrow is a great trophy. Glad you hung in there and made your hunt memorable. You alone know what you put into it and i am sure that is all that will matter. Again congratulations, enjoy your trophy you earned it.

Noticed same thing in 23. Trailers parked and no sign of activity. It is a shame that respect for entering empty camps has gone by the wayside these days. I was taught to not enter a camp unless you ask permission and it is granted. No one home--drive away. Simple.

That is how it was in 23. Lot of side by sides and what not barreling down roads. Glad i didn't encounter anyone rolled over. Saw some crazy driving going on . On a good note seen the mighty flag of the good old USA flying proudly out there. Good to see! The top end of unit was pretty much packed with camps and what not. Hope everyone was a good steward and packed everything back out.

Hope the temps drop for the archery guys and gals. Was up in 23 this weekend--crickets! No bugles to be heard. Best of luck to all who drew tags.

For those of you that will be on the highways enjoying the great outdoors thru this weekend in AZ. Have safe travels--keep it between the guardrails--enjoy your time outdoors. Be good stewards of our public lands and stay safe. Enjoy!

My dogs eat them. For the few that have been unlucky enough to be caught. Keeps them busy in the yard.

Have been glassing off side of road on various occasions and have been visited by the G&F representative. Interaction with rep has usually been cordial. Basic questions--are you hunting? Can I see your license and tag? Good luck and be safe is what i have been told. Have also had them ask to assist on a junior hunt for the kid I had with me--all while sitting off the main road glassing. All went well good encounter with rep . This is what I would term road hunting. Barreling down forest road--skidding to a halt and bailing out of the truck, shooting from middle of road at Elk. Pulling off road to go and get it. Game and Fish guy pulls up and parks his vehicle in road on top of scope covers and shell casings. Waits patiently for said individuals to get Elk loaded and proceeds to have them load Elk in his truck and then cites them . The local food bank benefitted from this.
