seen literally hundreds of fawns this year (antelope and elk). Mother nature is a little more resilient than most of us think.

I would save my lunch money to buy Fridays' Tucson Citizen when I was a kid just to read his articles. Meeting him was the only time I was star struck. prayers for him and his family.

He has my vote. I would suggest to the Special committee (3)people from the hunting establishment (3) independent people with no critter group affiliation and (1) department official or person without reproach in case of a tie. (tony mandile or bill quimby or Amanda, ETC) That way if an idea did make it, it would be a good idea that everybody could stomach.

Thanks for the offer, one of your counterparts explained the process to me in detail. I now have a very good grasp of how this system will play out.

So who will spend the money raised if its not G&F or CAP? I would love two sources of income to pay my bills also, but I manage with just one.
-
mass media outreach. I hope to see some other plans implemented, but we are putting the cart before the horse. G&F is already taking that approach and in my opinion doing a very good job at it. Nefarious the money that would be raised with tags, will not and can not go to fight a political agenda like HSUS. So please leave that argument out of the conversation, now in your opinion will money raised by tags, if any, go to CPAZ when G&F distributes the money raised for education?
-
I am really not seeing the problem. I cant drive in the valley and not see a G&F billboard. My instagram and facebook feeds are littered with G&F advertisements. I can honestly say Game and Fish is doing a great job in getting the word out. This problem of education funding is fabricated, IMO.

Dave, my work for the last few weeks required my full attention, unfortunately. I just need to now do the critter groups get any funding directly or indirectly from HPC funds for projects or otherwise after the money has been handed back to AZGFD?

IF raffle tags are used, and that's still an IF, a new program similar to the Big Game Super Raffle would be created. The current Big Game Super Raffle is mandated by legislation to disperse its funds to HPC. This one would be similar except funds would be Game and Fish. No outside organization would get any money. Who get's the HPC money? I am pretty sure its the critter groups and they guys that run the critter are the same people on CPAZ. In the above, I'm pretty positive ALL of the money from any auction/raffle tags is returned to the AGFD by law. That money is earmarked as HPC funds per species accordingly and is meted out for projects as determined by dept. and critter group committees for each game species. In short, the critter groups reap no financial benefit from any of it. The groups gain their owm operating revenue from dues, banquets and the other items that are auctioned or raffled during the year. And while we're at it, there appears to be a bit of misinformation that has pervaded this threads on the subject. It has to do with the "Utah model." Over the years I have followed most of the threads at MM on that topic. The set-up in Utah is quite different than the proposal here. Off the top of my head, I can't recall the percentage, but Peay's group keeps a large percentage of the money it raises from the raffles/auctions and offers little in the way of accounting for what his organization does with that money other than enrich the administrators. It's pretty much a mess. In contrast, the proposal here is for AGFD to receive and control 100% of the funds from any raffle/auction tags for the purpose of "educating the publc," akin to how it is now with HPC. And if that comes to pass, funds to battle the antis supposedly would come from other "sources" as was done this year with the lion initiative. Now, I'm guessing here, but other sources might include some sort of expo, banquets and private donors. In any case, it seems to be quite different than Peay's mess. Of course, a concrete proposal needs to be thoroughly put forth because the "devil in in the details." AZGFD receives 100% of the funds I understand that completely. I am asking who uses the HPC money after it goes back to AZGFD? I am surmising that its the critter groups.

theirs no crying in hunting management

I have no opinion on trail cams whatsoever. Is their anybody there for the trailcam ban?
-
they are still on 26 (special interest tags) nobody has anything yet

Too late, I already have. So, something like a 150 Grain broadhead and a 500 shaft would suffice? Generally speaking.

Conserve and Protect (Tags) Presentation at G&F Mtg
idgaf replied to 40-year-AZ-hunter's topic in The Campfire
My personal opinion on this is they do not want the tags. They want the money that goes with the tags. Any money generated would go into sort of a 'warchest' that these friends of hunting would use as needed by the chosen. This is a working theory so I am still developing the concept. Also, simple logistics dictates that whatever HSUS is doing for the next election will not be directly effected by what ever happens with this initiative. So lets stop using this scare tactic. -
Details are not available right now as the investigation is ongoing. But for all you need to know see the posts by his brother nobull350. 1. Avoid addressing the topic at hand. 2. Justify actions by pointing out supposed misdeeds of others 3. Say that other peoples animals are smaller. This family cares about trophies and looking like famous hunters. The rules dont apply to them, can do no wrong etc. I saw where he was deflecting towards A3 when pushed a bit.

After reading all that, I think I got the premise. But not the details. Is he alleged to have shot that buck on the rez, while in 3c, with a rifle during archery season?

What spine carbons do you suggest? I'm having a heck of time finding aluminum anymore.

get some help, you got issues.

i'm trying elk hunting with my recurve this year. It will be interesting.

isnt it not burning naturally the reason these so much fuel in the first place? Its hard to understand that the small town folks seem to think only they are responsible enough to use the forest. The rest of us are the tax base that pays the lions share of operations and maintenance cost right? If we start a fire here it burns our house down. It doesnt burn yours down. So naturally those that have more to lose than just the trees are going to be more careful. And were more inclined to want it closed so there isnt a fire no matter who starts it. Also last I checked when the forest closes we all are locked out of it so not like they are letting locals use it and out of towners can't. IF you don’t keep your property fire wise do you get the same ticket as the person who started the fire? I have 49 pine trees on a quarter acre lot. I had to sign a contract with Navajo county that I will not cut a tree down until 2025, last week I bagged 29- 55 gallon bags of pine needles. I am still no where near 'fire safe'. better yet just follow the rules for a few weeks and not start a fire. Could you just poison them and say that a bark beetle killed them? other than the pine needles, I like the trees. If a fire ever hit show low, again, it would have a long way to go to get to my house. Two churches, a couple of golf courses and about 500 houses.
-
My wife fell in love with the house. Loophole, that I can get a certified arborist to send a note to the county stating a tree is sick and needs to be cut. My brother is a certified arborist. guess I meant what rule or what conditions were in place to even have that as a possibility when I bought it? I've never heard of something like that. County/cities do weird stuff all the time. Try to build a house in Sedona and you will find out what weird really is.
