Nevada, I believe, does that. I think AZ's system although flawed is the best system in the west. It rewards people who have been trying for years and still keeps those with no points a realistic chance at getting a permit, thus keeping hunter recruitment higher.

I think that's called inflation

That space between north of the high school following the creek bottom to the lake has it share.

I've done pretty good east of 60 between the highway and the REZ fence. Dont worry about the gear just go out and hunt, you will find what works for you. I have taken very many animals and some trophys using only 150.00 dollar 10x42 binoculars (still using them). Good luck and enjoy the experience.

You probably had bonus points, putting you in the max point portion, very likely with a lot of other people. That eliminated you from the general draw where the tags were leftover.

US Troops interfering with hunt in border units 36B etc
idgaf replied to gogoj1's topic in Coues Deer Hunting in Arizona
Maybe you should stay in the much safer coues units like 23, 24b, 21, 22. The deer are bigger in those units anyway and no bp issues bothering your hunt. -
Heres another idea if government worked like its citizens did. Cut 4% from g&f's annual spend and they would have all the money they need to tell people they are doing a good job. Sorry blasphemous idea.

Good idea, make it 50.00 dollars for nonresidents.

Quartering away is a bad shot? The execution for whatever reason caused the result. I know several of the trophies on my walls were from quartering away shots. I would not hesitate to take a quartering away
-
Send me their locations and I will check for you.

The shot was legit and one I would take. Tight quartering away entered just before the hind quarter and angling into the vitals. It may have been a few inches high.

Found this guy dead on the southern portion. Opening day of the second season

Helped a guy on that hunt last week. Get up early, listen for bugles, get as close as you dare, Cow call, (absolutely no bugles) or better yet have some one cow call for you. Or sit water with a lot of tracks. Definitely, shoot the first bull you see. Good luck.

I'm left eye dominant and right handed. After much trial and error. I now just close my left eye.

G and F officer said there was an out break

I think it would be better to enforce the laws that keep people from driving off the roads at that time. I've gone into wilderness zones miles from a road and seen side-by-sides.

Nephew is guiding in the unit. He put a bull to bed the night before season (sent me video of the big bastard)and had his 72 year old Hunter in position before light within 45 yards. A hunter from Benson or Vail busted up the calling interaction and pushed the elk to parts unknown. A curfuffle ensued. Helped on a few hunts there seems to be more hunters than mature bulls in some places and some places are epic unit 1

ill take them if they are still for sale.

The day is upon us! Let's hear the reports!
idgaf replied to broadhead's topic in Bowhunting for Coues Deer
Coues hunting Ended with a 'dang what just happened' yesterday. Found a spot in unit 1 with a pocket of coues deer. Hunted it every weekend and finally got into shooting range when a very good buck jumped cover at less than 20 yards and this guy watched from 45 yards than when I went to pull back he ran. -
If you are sure there are no elk there, you shouldn't do anything and have him waste his hunt hunting it.
