So you are saying not knowing is bliss?

That's my dream hunt animal right there. Why would it be legal? Simply because we don't have them in AZ so it's a grey area? That's my dream hunt animal right there. Why would it be legal? Simply because we don't have them in AZ so it's a grey area? yes, they are not addressed in the game regs same way as pigs or aoudads. the grey area would be getting home from the kaibab and going through Utah without a tag.

seen pictures of them before in 13b. I believe they are legal to shoot.

G&F doesn't like me this year. I will just try to stick an arrow in this guy next month(picture taken last week)

24B - Would appreciate any information for Dec 2018 hunt
idgaf replied to THREEDFLYER's topic in Coues Deer Hunting in Arizona
my experience with 24b is first thing with antlers, shoot it. -
They still make them. I usually sell a few a year for 40.00 bucks or so for a single pole.

9 years ago today, after losing my password and changing emails I started posting under this moniker. I should probably thank CAPAZ for increasing my post count substantially. Here are some of things I have seen, killed and ran from along the way. Stuff I killed my last rifled animal (I think) unit 1- 190 yard shot- 3c -OTC I remember I got stuck behind a Dbag super road hunter at daylight going 4 MPH in new dark colored GMC on rim road. He would not let me pass so I went to a spot I hadnt hunted before and took him with a first pin shot. Dbag road hunter gave me stink eye when he drove back and I at my truck with him. MLK Weekend 2015. blind old and I think I shot at him with a rifle 4 years previously. 36C - Misjudged the first shot so badly it did not spook him (guessed 1st pin) gathered my loss of judgement reaimed with my 3rd pin and center punched him. you can seen the shadow of the fletching in his chest. biggest 150" buck ever, my favorite trophy. ] MLK Day buck. 1st pin 24A all of the Gov't facilities were closed that day so it made for a little shorter than normal working day selling light bulbs. on the way back to show low from globe I stopped, walked a couple of miles spotted him, snuck in and shot him with while wearing levi's and a golf shirt. The pack out was very heavy. new years eve buck. 36C recurve. messed up on the 100" two minutes later this guy takes the same path. I remember launching the arrow it taking a week to get there and then it dropping in its tracks. and me saying aloud "holy shoot I hit it" Late Season 3C archery bull. Last Day, Thanksgiving Day. 18 yard shot hit in the hip started the blood trailing foamy pink blood. went back to town, got my brother-in-law, brother and nephew. the way he positioned after his jaunts, I couldnt tell where the vitals were. Me and my brother-in-law ended up having T-day dinner in Camo. When I took it to the butcher the next day, he asked why I shoot him 5 times and I said, " because I didn't have six arrows" After walking over 200 miles between scouting and hunting and pushing arrow to nip his tail. I got this guy with my 3rd pin in 3bs. Some of the animals I passed. My brain was broken those days. 18 yards opening day(jan1) 5 minutes from camp 36C 36 yards from the truck. 3 miles from a mountain. I was not believing it was coues for about 5 minutes and then it was to late. It bolted right after I started pulling back. I rather watch a fight than hunt distracted deer Unit 21 August got to 12 yards and than didnt trust myself that I was that close During the late unit 1 hunt last year. I thought I could find a bigger bull. I couldn't Another stalk where I didnt trust myself see above. lots of junk on this one. Rio in 13b. Too close to the road for my taste. I ended up getting skunked on a 17 point rio hunt. I'm sure the guys crossing the border will pay taxes and play nice with others. Small stuff Other stuff Nephews first buck Brothers biggest buck. 3x8 Brother put the first shot in him, it ran over the hill and a hillbilly driving out put rounds 2-4 into him Crime scene Coyote Shot at dawn Step Dads first and likely only big game animal Got Elk (yes they are all bulls) Other stuff Lion killed antelope. I had a tag and watched that buck go over the hill. When I got their I saw this. now that I am at 1000 post I am less of nerd than I was yesterday, well slightly. Forcible cutting it short, I have too many pics.

I want that to happen to me.

My brother had about 150 yard shot and I watched the buck buckle after he shot, it ran over the ridge line. We followed a few minutes later, once we got to the edge of the ridge bullets were hitting all around us. we yelled and got to the buck just after the other shooter. We asked if he heard the shot about 5 minutes earlier, he said NO. My brother stuck out his hand and said congratulations. I asked if I could take the picture you see and he said yes. the hillbilly was shaking from excitement and maybe some angst.

Thanks, ordered a few. If that doesnt work, Tape light would work perfectly for this.

Thanks, Its more persistence than anything and not really being well rounded.

Taking out some draw frustrations
idgaf posted a topic in Small Game, Upland Bird, and Waterfowl Hunting
No strip tag or sheep tag for me so I had to find an outlet my frustrations. Prarie dogs. 22hornet The end result was some exploded prarie dogs to gruesome to show the pictures of. 50 rounds was not enough. -
I am not referring to the hunter, I am referring to the preys defense mechanisms. When I say its easier.

Thats my goal with a recurve. I designed the lighting for a hunters trophy room in safford. Part of my price was getting the guided tour of his 'museum'. One of the animals was a full mained lion that him and the 'black trackers' were after for three days until it took him into chest high grass and waited facing (lion facing his backtrail) for him and the trackers to get to him. He shot it at 6 or 7 yards. Since then, I have been trying to accomplish that goal. It will be very unlikely that I will go to Africa, but I try our lions many times every year. Been within archery range 3 times. We can agree to disagree, I never said long range shooting is unethical, I am saying it is easier. You are bypassing the animals defenses and the level of fair chase is less with long range shooting than getting close.

How about a javalina @ 18 yards by an 11 years old? Thats cool. what was more memorable the 18 yard shot or the 600? I helped my 14 year old nephew shoot his first javelina at 2 yards with his bow. It is something he will never forget.

This my version of Christmas Eve,. I cant sleep with big hopes for the morning

Once again great kill and im sure there shooting skills are much greater than mine. Let me rephrase How many new comers this upcoming season will we read about that will have shot one of their first animals at 500+. And how many new comers will we read about that have shot there first buck at under 30. A deers defenses is are intended for immediate threats. Not people shooting from half a mile away.
-
Great kills and congratulations, but I think this proves what I am trying to say. A fourteen year old with the right firearm can kill a great buck at distance. Show me where a 14 year old has killed any buck at under 30. I hope the draw is tomorrow or I will get beaten up.

Guys like you are incapable of actually hunting animals. BTW, I can shoot that far, I choose not to. Ha ha there you go assuming! Who said I was a long range hunter bro? Have you hunted with me??? Stupid comment for a stupid typical keyboard pounder. You 4000+ post. Me 985 posts. Now who is keyboard pounder? You can disagree with a person's opinion and both still have valid arguments. No worries man, probably because Ive been a member longer but who cares. I was referring being a tough guy behind the ol keyboard. Anyways I apologize if I offended you, the last 3 bucks ive killed have been all under a 100 yards with last years being 15 yards just because I wanted to see how close I could get to it. I dont condone long range hunting because I have lots of friends that shoot far. I used to practice a lot of long range, I feel confident I could make the shot count 600+, but for those that want to have at it as long as they practice. For me I like getting close, last year 15 yards was fun. Anyways Idgaf Its all hunting, just different methods of it. As soon as we put more restrictions on it, the more the AZGF will take away. I'm with you. I wouldn't restrict anything I'm just saying it's more fun to get close. One of these days let's get some beer and swap stories on how good we use to be.

The hunt. at 25 yards you are violating their safe space. At 500 they do not have that issue. try getting as close as you can, its addicting. If I kill one at 40 yds... does that make me a hack? No, neither does taking an animal 500+, its just not for me, personally. I have helped my hunting partners take animals at those distances and after the animal is down, I make fun of them.
