Sourdough, that sounds about right for what I think and see about most Dakotans. Most are still living in the sixty and seventys. I see a lot of ducks up here driving in oil country in N. Dakota. Amazing the color on some. The rancher that lets me turkey hunt his property told me he has 22 or 24 different species of duck mounted. Can't remember the exact amount but Iv'e seen some I would love to shoot and mount. Problem is duck season i'm generally big game hunting in some state. Neat birds........BOB!

Yotebuster, Saw a monster Bull here in the Knife river valley on Sat. afternoon.70 yards off highway 2. Standing broadside. Was hoping he didn't get hit crossing the road. When I came back thru 3 hours later didnt see anything so he made it. There was a cow 40 yards behind him. Weird cause it was middle of the day and 90+ degees out. I know of 3 that have been hit by trucks or car in last 3 weeks. Hope G&F here takes in account how many get killed by trucks in the oilfield. Ive seen about 30 of them now in my 4+ years up here. Kinda cool seeing them things. This one had a huge rack and body. Good luck in Idaho. I will be going thru Williston Tomm..Hows Your buss. going there?.......BOB!

We still have 2, another beagle mix and the weimerimer in the picture. So the house isn't completely empty. Just miss that little beagle bark. Wife is taking it hard as I said that was her baby. Thanks all for the comfort and nice comments. When your older and your kids are grown up the dogs get like your kids. Such is life.Both my parents are very old (Dad will be 95 in 7 weeks) Thats what I gotta prepare for is when they go. Been very lucky to have parents live that long. Well, My little girl made it to exactly 17 years. Born next door to where we lived in Cave Creek . She allways wandered over, so I ended up keeping Her. They had the Grandma dog and the Mother. What a trio . they would gout hunting every morning as they had free roaming ,and allways come back with 1 or 2 animals.My dog named Chica had some yote in her and her mom supposedly was half. She was naturally snake broken and saved us and our other dogs many times. She would do a deep distinctive bark and the wife would say ,Chicas got a rattler ,sure as heck she would. I remember 1 day I left to go to work and about a mile down the road she was on my tail. Allways wanted to be with Me. Wife says when I was gone for a week hunting she would just lay there bumbed out. Great dog but time to move on. When we moved up here she loved the snow. schocked me, being from the desert. The beagle in the Pic. is not gonna live much longer either. He is lucky. When He was abot 6 months old he got out rite before dark and a pack of coyotes got him in the street out front{dirt road} Chica ran out and fought them off and saved the Beagle as My son ran out too. $ 800 in stiches in the kneck for the beagle. Peace little Girl .Loved Ya. Bringing ashes back to the Desert. AMEM.................BOB!.

Well as I mentioned in My first post on this topic , the Beagle is just about done too. Glad I got today off of work today cause her time has come too. She has been bad for 3-4 days but today You can tell its time .2oclock today got vet appt. to put Him down . Second one in 3 weeks sucks. This one is only 12. The other one was 17. Seems the Beagle (Huey) got cheated a few years. This one hurts more than the first one. They are all so special. My Wife is laying with Him as it was her Dog. She had to come home from work. Can't tell You how many times I had to chase down that dog in the desert by our old house. Wish I could do it again now. Thanks Huey. Rest in peace buddy with your sister Chica................BOB!

Off to Texas in 20 min. for training for new job. Trucking oil. Found a small comp. that leases on with a major oil Comp. Didn't want to go to work for major comp. cause need 2 weeks in Sept for bull hunt. Lucked out ,the 2 guys that own this comp are big hunter and understand. I can get on with the big Guys later and transfer to New Mexico.............Yeeeha.............BOB!

Just got back from Midland Texas. Thank God I aint gotta live or work there. What an ugly Frickin place. Never in My life did I think I would be happy to get home to North Dakota. Off to work Tomm. 10 weeks till unit 10 Elk hunt. Funny, same Country ,same Companies but style of oil well set up is totally different as well as hauling process.. That place is old fashioned and ugly. I can move to Carlsbad NM. and that will get me closer to AZ. .One more year up here then Maybee AZ. Depends on money. Hope oil prices go back up soon, as it is a bigger part of American economy than people realize. 20k layed off up here and way more in Texas. Every time I fly ,airports and planes are packed with oil workers and the brass. Only high paying jobs left in America for the common working man.............BOB!
