I went this afternoon.Was a little better than My last one 5 years ago , but still a joke . A City with 5 million people Should have a show 3 times as big. I hated North Dakota ,but in Minot where I lived ,a town of 60k people their expo isn't tomuch smaller and allmost as many outfitters as this show. Still the best one here was 15 or so years ago ,the first one put on by locals, I beleiveve Floyd and the guys from the Outdoorsman. Correct Me if Im wrong on who started it. This one is a joke. The only good thing was the taxidermy display , Eastmans and if you want to go to Alaska fishing or Africa hunting. bottom line waste of $ 17 dollars addmision and parking...............BOB!

I think most good hunters or guides that it is an instinct, its in your blood or you have the mind of a predator. I know guys that have hunted a lot and they can't find or kill squat. I think You either have it or You don't..............BOB!

Go to New Mexico. Everyone there is a guide..............BOB!

Big Browns summed it up pretty good. Every set up is different except the ones that hear your call and come in on a rope running. The above ones I mentioned that came 200yards across a field took their time and were silent. What gave me the advantage was I saw em still in the pines across the field. Even tho they were silent, I got to watch them the whole time. Thats why I like open stuff,some will come in silent.. Try to listen at night as they fly up or gobble and yelp. Then you can sneak in in the morning.....BOB!

If you know they roost or hang or feed or travel an area I set up decoys or call in a field or opening if possible .Call a little and wait ,do it again. My first bird I ever killed I sat at same spot all day. 2 hens and a Tom came across a field 200* yards to get hammered at 5 pm. Wait em out if u know they frequent the area...........BOB

Muleys move so far in the rut. I think finding a big muley shed I would stay in that area where I found it ,not where I saw him in the rut. Gotta get in some country where it looks like no one wants to go. You could find it on the way to his water source too. Good luck............BOB!.....PS, I think alot will still be packing now. Find em Glassing early. Then move into these areas in a few weks to a month.

When I used to hunt pigs the old green circe would work on getting them to run ya over most of the time. First time a buddy ever did it I was amazed. After shooting with a rifle at 40 yards they would come back and do circles around us. Good time for sure. Hope the leg heels..........BOB!

Iv'e killed as many Turkeys without decoys as with them. Give a choice one way or the other I would hunt without them. You sound like a Turkey ,if they are hot they come running in regardless. Plus some have been educated by decoys ,see them and walk the other way. Some times it makes them curious and they come in but I say only 30% of the time or some where in that range..Just my experience of 25+ years of hunting them. The only time I don't like it is real windy, I can't hear em, but they can hear You. Good luck.........BOB!

I aint been to the White MTN'S in over 5 years since I left town. The Whallo fire happened right after I left. Gonna make me sick to see 1 and 27 all burned up. Those are my 2 fav. units. Turkey honey holes burned up. I'm sure their back by now by now(the animals) but the beauty of the forrest isn't gonna be there. .I hope to go up and help a buddy and shed hunt some..I won't be Turkey huntin it for a while. Got 10 points and waiting for the goulds tag as I will be resident again. Good luck to all You guys up there this year.............BOB!
