25-06 I'M just not a fan of cameras. I knew it would start crap if I posted..Nothin personal to any body ,just to each his own. I guess being older I just hunt like We allways did. No bait ,No Cams. Go find an animal . Thats what its all about ,Hunting. Not killing . Scouting is another great tool. Everyone including Me wants to kill that whopper but most don't wanna hunt for it..I have never killed a book animal but would luv one. But I will be more proud when I do it with My own 2 eyes.and not with help of a cam. or bait. Good luk this year ,hope You drew..............BOB!

If a camera is left on a tree on public land ,chances are it could be gone when you come back. If You leave it , it legally no longer belongs to you . You should expect it to be gone.. I never took one , but I never put one up either. Got better things to waste my $ on .Learn how to hunt without em. Ya ,I was a lannscape contractor in the valley for 30+ years . The fastest growing in the Desert is mesquite or Sonoran Palo Verde..5-8 ft a year.......BOB!

No ash tree will grow that fast. Fact they are a modrerate grower ,maybe 2ft a year or a little more..At 5K ft in elavation I wouldn't use mesquite too cold.I don't think You would get much growth if they live.........BOB!

I didn't put in cause I am still a non res .technically for a couple more months and wasnt gonna spend $ on out a state lic. fee. Had only 2 points for Elk after gettin drawn last year and as a non res I would not have drawn a bull tag anyway with 2 points.(not one I wanted) No big deal I lose my loyalty point. I will be in the Res draw for deer and sheep and turkey. Got option for Wyo. and Montana too ..............BOB!

I just got Hit. I didn't put in for the draw ,but was at Wallmart and a Big Fat chick Hit me cause i was in her way to get potato chips. Beware of them Hefty ones if they are hungry..............BOB!

I always use soft Hen Yelps as a locator call. Wouldn't You rather here a mate calling You as opposed to a predator or enemy.............BOB!

I hope the results come out in 2-3 months. Cause this was the first year in 30 I did not put in. I whould of had to buy a non res license and pay the high fees if I got drawn with only 2 points I said screw it . I will be a resident again in time for the deer draw then I will buy a Res. license. I lost my loyalty point but no big deal after waiting 18 years for last years Elk tag. Good luck waiting. Sure is easy on me this time not checking 10 times a day.................BOB.

I grew up in PA. along time ago and My DAD always took kneck sots with a 222 for deer. I have taken 5-6 bedded animals out here with kneck shots. Why wait for them to get up. They might get up and run. If You have time that shot is ok...............BOB!

The way You feel about Alaska, I felt the same about North Dakota. . Too damm cold to enjoy it. The folks from there do, they don't know any better. When I was there I hunted Montana 4 years and one year the whole 5 days was -22 plus wind chill..You couldn't breath if you tried to hike and You could only Glass 20-25 minutes cause of the wind. Had to be - 40 wind chill. Me and a buddy thought if We worked in it We could play in it . Bull!. I never pheasant hunted either up there. Something about walking thru a field at -10 for a little Chinese bird wasn't my idea of fun. In the spring ,Turkey hunting was either very cold and snowy or 30 with 50 ticks all over you. Couldn't wait to get to the desert. My new job down here I drive I-10 to Palm Springs and back every day and the Mtns .and Desert are spectacular. Can't wait to get out and hunt. Nothin prettier than a big majestic Muley standing in the Saguaro cactus..................BOB!

Sad they have no control of the situation. I have heard of outfitters packing in deep and seeing only 50-100 Elk where they used to see 500 plus up in Wyoming and Montana. Its started here too.............SSS...............BOB!
