I would think theres only a couple 400" bulls in the whole unit if any. Just My guess, and they didn't get that big by being dumb. I could see tag soup if your holding out. Iv'e done it before on trophy hunts. I don't know the unit thats why I got someone helpin Me that knows the unit and hope for the best. Am I holdin out ? Ya but the first 370ish bull I see is in trouble. 15-20 inches don't look all that much different. What are we talking 1-2" per point longer. Just lookin forward towards the hunt............BOB!

Don't worry about gobblin. Go have fun , they will be there They talk on and off .Sit tite and be patient if You are in an area that holds turkeys. Just call a little ocasionally.......BOB!

I had a unit 1 early rifle bull tag in 96. First bull hunt ever. did it with just me and a buddy who knew no more than me at scoring. Terrible drought year, not many big bulls taken. on the second evening I shot a perfectly symetrical 6x6, 330" bull. As I learned more I wish i would a held out a little longer. 52 and 53" main beams, nice back 3 points ,the fronts were weak, only 12-13" descent mass average spread. I should be happy, most folk don't ever get one that big. But I had to have bigger. so I have waited 19 years to get this 10 tag. I have professional help this time as I don't have scouting time being in N. Dakota. And still a torn up shoulder. I want as big as I can get. Who knows ,it may not happen but my goal is to be there 4-5 days early and help scout. I can judge them well now, so I will know a shooter when we see him, if we do. I drew that 96 tag with only 3 points. So I paid my dues for this one. Goal of 370" ,if we can find bigger great. I hope there are some left. My helper says yes. I hope I'M not a few years to late.I will be 59 , 2 weeks before the hunt so I am gonna make this one of the funnest times of my life. First time I pressured myself. Wish Me well all. Great animals You harvested. You should Find Elk in 21 its just a matter of how big and can you get to them. Seen some nice bulls while bear hunting in there. Rough country .Get in shape. Good amount of Snakes too ,watch Your step. Good luck.........BOB!

I heard all the good guides are in 9 fighting over water holes! Murfhys69, If You want a 330 bull I got one on the wall You can have if You find Me a 400" or close. In all seriousness to Hunters and guides, how has it been since they put 100 tags on the early hunt. Is there to many people out there, and is there that many quality bulls left. Out of 100 tags last year I wonder how many harvested great Bulls and then how many good Bulls. How many of 100 went home empty . ..... Thanks..........BOB!

If You can glass that is great. Thats what I do if possible or mozey along with an ocasional yelp to see if i get a responce. I f You do yelp hang tite for 15 -20 min. one might meander in silent. Keep alert. Ive always stayed out all day on turkey hunts. Its a long day ,but take a few naps against a tree by a meadow. Birds come in to the meadows silent all day. aGood part of fun is finding elk sheds once in a while too. Good luck to all this spring. Season is open Here in Dakota But it been all wind. Was out last nite ,for 2 hours before dark and only found a jake. I let them live, but thats just Me. I want the smart longbeard , usually more of a challenge. One last thing about staying out all day Me and buddies have killed birds all hours of the day..................BOB!

The most important thing to anyone turkey hunting is patience. Its hard even for a veteran turkey hunter, so real hard for kids. They wanna see action...............BOB!

I got no problem helping someone in a general area, but don't be dumb enough to give up honey holes. In Az alotta tags You aint gonna have for years ,so whats the difference. Now a tag You could get every year Like a coues or Turkey I aint telling notta..............BOB!

Personally I think Goulds should be like sheep, one and done. Let others have a chance at a rareaty. Antelope too. Or at least a 10 year wait..............BOB!

Go in the bar in reserve and watch some of these guys do turkey call with the little straws from the mixed drinks. Funniest thing on earth. Guess not much to do around there. Of course Me and a buddy applauding them only led them to do it more. No need fo a diaphram call. Just have a cocktail and save the straw....................BOB!

I had a Springer Chow mix that would go full speed into the walls after them dang thinks. Don't know how He didn't break his Muzzle. Weird mix of breeds but great dog. Lived to be 18..............BOB!

Just hide against a tree, Use a sling shot, pickup the closest 1/4 " pebble You can find and You are good to go. Range is up to how good You are .............BOB!
