check out the vortex razor spotting scopes. they now have 3 objective sizes to choose from: 45mm, 65mm and 80mm so u can go as light or heavy as u want. the price and quality of these spotters cannot be beat IMO.

It really is personal preference. I like pistol grips personally and I have some buddies that do not like them. I have the outdoorsmans pistol grip and like it alot! You can also buy the panning base piece for it and use the pistol grip for panning and have the best of both worlds.

My girlfriend had her first rifle deer hunt this past weekend down there in 36b. Neither of us had ever been hunting down there before and to say the least i am amazed! Ive seen border wars on national geographic before but you really cannot grasp how bad it is down there until you experience it first hand. The first two days of her hunt we saw 4 different groups of illegals. The biggest group being 12 people. We had 2 groups walk right by us within 100 yards! Trash was everywhere in the area we were in and quite frankly i was disgusted by it! Something needs to be done about this! If its that easy for these people to just come across the border how easy will it be for a terrorist to get into our country!?

I towed my elk back from show low to Mesa on a trailer a couple years ago and it did just fine. Made it home in the same condition as when I picked it up. Just make sure to tie it down good! Wind didn't bother the hair at all.

With over 7000 posts to my 34 it seems you've done much more talking than I have. I never said I've killed many - or any big bucks. I don't use cameras or bait to find deer. I don't use deer to prove how good I am. I don't shoot baby deer. I don't take " maybe" shots. I have the same box of ammo I bought 10 years ago with 10 rounds left. I put in plenty of work to hit what I aim at. I know my deer rifle. The rest are just toys. My .50 is my big toy. I hunt on the same mtns, mostly on my property, and shoot one round at a deer I know I can kill. I give half the meat away. And I don't think all that much of myself. But I do call it as I see it. And now I see I have to move on. I'm also waiting on word about where to go. I hope to go back east and help for a few weeks. My job/profession allows me freedom to do what I want.
