Finally pulled a UT tag as a NR with 16 points and I am stoked. I would love to see some pics of management bucks from the Pauns area so I can get an idea of what to expect. I will be making at least one scouting trip before the season to learn the roads and terrain hoping to make the most of the experience. Thanks for the replies! It is three or less on one side. When I started putting in in Utah I had no idea I would be looking at 16 years later and putting in for Management hunt. I don’t think I will live long enough to pull a Pauns or Henry tag. Lol I am trying cut my losses and move on to other states to try. I am just hoping to have a fun hunt, see a lot of deer, and get a poke at a mature buck. It’s the being out there that I enjoy. Was out yesterday for a 5 mile hike looking for turkeys at 9000+ feet but didn’t see any. Did catch 5 Apache trout though. Thanks Jeff! I will PM you. Thats a good looking buck.

Yes it would be beneficial. Tons of speed goat country on the Bigbo . It seems you will have a fair amount of people out due to the speed goat hunters and elk scouters.

They called a while ago and it seemed too good of an opportunity to pass up since she will probably never draw it if we passed this time. I would love to chat with any of you who have hunted this unit in the past and would be willing to educate me last minute as to road access, camping, late season issues to be aware of. How was that Kaibab Hunt?

It was a pretty short hunt for us. Found a hot doe on Thursday evening and went back in the AM. Found this buck and a few others but this was the heaviest and largest frame. She thought about passing him as we watched them for a couple hours but then decided to take him. She made a great shot at 270 yards and he was done. Met some good people up there and had a great time. She was very blessed to get that call. Thanks to all the people who offered info on the unit!
