Precision hunting shot preparation checklist
105Coues replied to Billinsd's topic in Rifle hunting for Coues Deer
All I can say is the only sure way to know what the ballistics are for your rifle and load is to pattern them yourself. I spend the time to do this and I just last Friday shot a 3" group at 600 yards with my 300WinMag. Tickled the crap out of me since I have been trying to accomplish this for a long time. I have a Ballistic software program but it is only halfway correct so I have been shooting and adjusting for level. I am ready to go huntin. I won't even attempt a shot at long range if there is any wind because my experience is the wind is a variable which is a crap shoot at best. -
Sounds like some of ya are a little squeamish!!!!! I bet none of ya have been bit though. Those black ones are really cool.

Camera messed with by Forest Lakes
105Coues posted a topic in Photography of Coues Deer and Other Wildlife
I went to check my cam on Sunday and low and behold I find two pairs of hunting boot tracks following some elk tracks right to my setup. The JACKHOLES must have spotted the camera and untied the top strap and faced the camera toward the tree for the last pic it took. Then they unplugged the external battery. I really don't understand why so called fellow hunters would do this but I do still have a camera. It was locked up and has engraving all over it so that is probably why. I would much rather the other hunter call me and ask about the pics rather than screw with my cam. In case they read this forum. Yes I will be sitting at this stand during the archery season. -
I would suggest borrowing your buddies and using them out in the field before buying them. They won't be anywhere near the quality of your Swaros. I hope this saves you some cash as I looked through some in a store and was impressed so I bought them only to buy a pair of Zeiss at a later time. My .02

I encourage you engravers to write your info on the inside also. The outside could be covered and not look obvious but if the inside is ground off it looks more suspicious. Also the "Stolen From" before your name adds a nice touch. -
I doubt that the the noise will matter after getting hammered at night and waking up late in the morning.

Wanna buy some more crappy Moultrie straps? -
I am on my 5th Moultrie and one actually works right. I have returned three of them and one of the two I still have I had to pull out of the woods today because it keeps locking up and giving me errors. I was real happy with the first one I bought and it is still the one that works good. All the others have been crap and I could have bought better ones with the money I have spent for gas checking a locked up cam. Good luck with whatever you buy or build and I hope this saves you some grief. PS If you want to buy a Moultrie, let me know. They do take good pics but by the tracks I think I am missing alot of pics.

I sure hope the government bans this BRAD character from breeding.

I hate to burst your bubble but it is quite a bit of work to keep them active. It involves a number of trips and the gas , salt and stuff of that nature builds up a bill. I would say respect the other person and back off. How would you like it if you did the homework and put in the time to make it active and keep it that way. I agree that if it were a water hole that it is fair game and legally you can go anywhere you want but I believe we as hunters and brothers in the woods need to respect each other and part of that is giving each other space. Awesome pics. Thx for sharing -
Napolitano actually signed an immigration bill that will actually help our country. Can you believe it? It is about time the legislature and her stepped up and made a positive change. Now if the "Its not fair" idiots will leave it alone so it can be enacted in Jan 08 and hopefully the wishy washy judges don't block it as they usually do when the people vote on something.

I agree he must have an angle because this signing is out of the norm for he/she. You should see our Coolidge, AZ WALMART where everything over the PA system is in Spanish. This whole thing is like putting a bird feeder on your porch and complaining about the birds. The problem is simple to fix once you look through all the bird crap. Get rid of the food. Unfortunately, we in the US(Politicians) are too worried about hurting someones feelings who isn't even a citizen to do anything about it.

Ammunition Ban by OSHA

Thanks for the heads up -
I cannot agree more with the fact we should have been enforcing the laws we have all along. However if that were the case, the 12 - 20 million illegals wouldn't be here, they would have been treated like the felons they are. Conspiracy to enter the US illegally is a felony. I do not agree with the statement that it would put legitimate businessmen out of business due to the fact if they were law abiding they wouldn't be knowingly hiring them. I do agree that it would disrupt the economy but ultimately it would bring the jobs back to the American workers. Don't get me wrong, I do not blame the illegals for the problem the US Govt. has created. They are just opportunists looking for free stuff and the US Govt. is offering. If you take away the illegal employment, Free housing, medical, food and education. Guess what, no more problem and the US can go back to granting citizenship to honest people who are willing to go through the process. I know this bill isn't the whole fix but it will hold our employers of AZ accountable and hopefully encourage the feds to enforce some of the laws we already have. I doubt it though but we have to hope.
