    Moving into the neighborhood

Awesome Kev. I'm pretty enthused to be a resident. I'm an Account manager for a software company. I'll be out looking for a Bear and maybe calling some coyotes ASAP!

    Moving into the neighborhood

Moving down from Western Colorado to be closer to family (NM) and for work reasons.
  3. Planning on heading to San Carlos for the spring hunt next year, and am curious if anyone has any experience calling bears during the spring. My understanding is that they're farily responsive to calling during August/Sept. which is the only time I have hunted them. Never hunted the spring season, so any experience, even if not calling related would be much appreciated. Thanks, Gringo

Has any of you hunted Ibex in NM

I hunted the Archery hunt in Jan a couple of years ago and actually killed a Billy. What I can tell you is this.... everything everybody says about the mountain and the goats is spot on!! If you draw, take the best optics $$ can buy, at least 1 or 2 Spotters on the base of the mountain to work with you and use the radios and your spotters to intercept the Ibex as the other hunters bump them back and forth across the mountain all day long. It is one of the coolest hunts I have ever done! Be ready to shoot at loooong Distances. My billy was crossing a rock ledge 72 Yards above me and if I hadn't been practicing out to ridiculous distances for months prior, I wouldn't have made the shot. Most of the guys on my side of the mountain got shots during the first week (as close as 12 Yards out to over 100). Most shots will be at extreme angles, and I'm not sure how you practice for that, just know you have to adjust for the ups/downs and Pray!!! Good luck pulling a tag..... I'm still waiting on my next chance to chase em!!!

    Unit 17 Mule Deer

Either the East or West Side of the S.M. are good. Loaded with Deer. Just get where you can see.... Plant your butt..... and Glass, Glass, Glass, Glass, until you find what you're looking for. Bed 'em and stalk em. Hunted it in January with Archery gear and had plenty of 4X4 bucks to chase around. The guys that didn't spend the time behind the optics (Just hiking and hoping) weren't seeing nearly the #'s that we saw. Good Luck!!
  6. My buddy and I have Tags for Unit C for the hunt this August. Anyone have any intel on areas to start looking? Thanks in advance!!

    WMAT Elk Tags

With Tags being as hard to get as they are... Was considering buying one of WMAT, DIY Archery tags. Anyone have any experience here? Is it worth it? I know it's not a trophy tag, but would be a good way to get out and chase some Elk with my bow. Thanks for the feedback.

    WMAT Elk Tags

I appreciate the feedback. Figured it would be decent, and since I'm not looking for Trophies, shouldn't be too hard to find some elk to work, even if it's just a couple of days before the hunt opens. Gracias!!

    Swarovski 2X Doubler

Don't know if anyone is interested, but I've got a Doubler listed on Ebay (seems these are pretty rare on Ebay). Thought someone here might be interested. http://cgi.ebay.com/Swarovski-Optic-2X-Dou...=item439fe2a210

    Swarovski 2X Doubler

Well..... I tried...... "Not that useful" is my concensus as well..... hence the "for sale" sign. Trying to liquidate to upgrade to a spotter..... Just thought I'd try.
