Very cool!

No, I think it will stay open.

Got to love the partial pics of bears that mess with cams! I enjoy seeing the wisps of hair and using my imagination to guess how large or small the culprit might be!
-
Looks like a nice one to me!

Are the tribal October bear hunt dates "flexible"? I would love to have it open the week of the 9th-17th.

You CAN'T peel my boxes!!!!!!! That is a fact! But, I have to hire a body builder to carry them into the woods for me! Love your work!!

Man, that last little cub is one fat porker!

+1 on the fourth picture!

I loved Operation Desert Storm! My nephew was a Marine who experienced it all in a Hum-V detail. I was in college at the time taking a DNA recombination lab when we first opened up and began dropping bombs and shooting missles. It came across on the radio during class and I was the only one in a class of 15 college students who stood up and cheered. I wanted to make sure my nephew received support and respect for his service, unlike what my uncle received upon returning from Viet Nam. God bless those who serve!

Saw the same thing in 23n. Bears are wising up and figuring out how to use crowbars out there.

The bears are always redder on the other side of the mountain...but,you already know that! I hope the season lasts two weeks as well.

Forget the blackberries, the service berries have been ripe all July!! They are starting to wrinkle up, but will still be ok for another week or two elevation and sun exposure dependent, of course! By the way, if you have never eaten a service berry, they are practically the same size, shape, and color of a blueberry, but can be reddish-purple to purplish-black depending on their state of maturity. They also have the same sepals (triangle shaped and circularly arranged flower parts) on their berries as blueberries do.

Looks like a keeper to me!

Bear pic 9, that yellowish-red cinnamon is my favorite!

One can not knowingly use any substance at anytime to attract bears. If you had an archery deer tag and were hunting deer over salt and a bear showed up, I think that would be a legal bear take (with a bear tag). In the past, if you put corn or apples out for deer and shot a bear over it, I think that would have been an illegal take. These are interesting pics with the salt pellets and bears showing some curiosity with them. I have never used pellets, but have put out the 40 pound reddish mineral blocks for elk and have had bears walk past the blocks on a game trail while paying no heed at all to them. These bears seem to be sniffing something out here. Maybe deer or elk that were on the salt earlier ....or someone who came by wearing AXE cologne!

+1 on that beautifully colored bear!

Yes, these are nice bears. The head-on picture of the brownie is my favorite. Imagine his head shaking left to right with his tongue hanging out coming in to a predator call!
-
Just out of curiosity, have you checked these against the Swaro non-HD SLC 15's and if so, how do they compare? They look sharp.

Is that last cinnamon picture from this year? If it is, that bear got fat real quick on soft mast foods!
-
Interesting. Looks like a younger bear to me. I'm thinking it sniffed out a lion kill and claimed the prize.
-
Is it a 340 or 350 Destroyer?

Young juvenile about 1-2 years old. Mother probably turned this one loose this year. Can not determine the sex from this angle.

The next picture you post of that darker bear better show you grinning from ear to ear and kneeling over its tagged body!
-
This is like splitting hairs, but to me, the dark one, is not really black, just a very dark brown color. That being said, I would go after the cinnamon! Were they in the same vicinity of each other? Possibly one was a sow being serenaded by a boar. ...you must be Cody's brother. Welcome to the forum! ..and the bear addiction!

Now, don't go out scouting on your birthday. Better to do some bass fishing with your wife.
