Finally checked my cams after a month. Crazy thing was that my batteries still had power left, but my SD card was full. The last pictures that were grabbed were from about September 7th. Are these bucks mule or coues deer? I have no idea?

Camera has a regular flash. Wildview Extreme 2 or 3, which only costs about $40-$50 on sale. Low cost = less quality pictures, but less pain if stolen.

Any update on your bear?

Thanks again to Gary. Took my family camping in 22N for an overnight adventure to check a trail camera in the field. On the way back, we stopped off and picked up the skulls for my classroom. I was extremely pleased with his donation and found Gary to be a great personable fellow. Thanks again Gary. Hope to drop you off an elk head this winter!

What do you mean nothing special? Are you telling me that a blonde-coated brown-faced bear is simply "ho-hum"? You are funny!

I shore fish several times a year and have never needed a license. Years ago I was told I needed a license from the "harbor captain" to collect ghost shrimp and octopus in tide pools for my salt-water aquariums. I wrote several times in an attempt to acquire a license, but it was never issued. I think as long as you are not "commercial" fishing and profiting from it, it is no big deal.

370" Bull Down! Video Added (Click link to Youtube)
kidso replied to bonecollector777's topic in Elk Hunting
Great bull, Blake. Hope you get tons of meat off that beast! Wish I could of have helped you haul it out, but he couldn't have fallen at a nicer location for you. Did you run into any bear sign up there during your hunt? -
Let's hear your "Zombie-dove" stories
kidso replied to Scooter's topic in Small Game, Upland Bird, and Waterfowl Hunting
Never had a zombie dove. But, years ago in grad school, I had trapped a spotted skunk and threw it in my freezer to skin it out later when I had some free time. Three years later, I was finally skinning out this long-frozen omnivore when my scalpel slipped and pricked the scent sac. Time slowed down to a crawl as I watched a stream of liquid leave the sac and arc with a perfect trajectory towards my open, screaming mouth! Yes, it went right in!!! Jalapenos, chiltapenes, chili peppers, even pepper spray couldn't hold a candle to the putrid and powerful force which exuded from that sac! I was rolling around on the ground coughing and hacking out my lungs, with non-stop liquid dripping out of my eyes. My nose and eyes watered for a week after that and I was coughing and hacking up mucus for a few days longer. Zombie skunk certainly had the last laugh on this one! And I never watched zombie movies before, but last summer I found the Walking Dead on Netflixx and watched them all. I was just glad they couldn't run as fast as the zombies on Legend. Will Smith never had a chance! -
What is your bow set up there? Cow looks nice. Would make a nice tanned bed spread.

My AZ Bear- I still can't believe it!
kidso replied to ready2hunt's topic in Black Bear or Grizzly Bear hunts
Are you now hooked on hunting bears? It is such a rush and they are tough to take down! Congratulations on a job well done. Dustin checked my bear too, and he was a great rep for Fish and Game. -
Jelly beans in a bottle...210 pounds.

kidso replied to Big Browns's topic in Small Game, Upland Bird, and Waterfowl Hunting
Reminds me of my first ever dove hunt as a kid. I only wish i was half as happy as your son! Great job dad! -
I have yet to specially hunt deer, bur your exciting story has sparked an interest. It sounds like fun and the way you describe it, is how I feel about hunting bears. A happy well-earned congratulations to you!

Is that the White Mountains? Great job.

Wow! Where were you at where one would need to pack in 20 miles?

What a thrill! Only imagine the rush if a lion or bear was that close to you while calling...that's why we do it!

East Valley Gunsmith - shotgun won't cycle
kidso posted a topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
Pulled out my 12 gauge Stevens pump and the slide won't move at all. It worked fine when I last used it about 3 years ago. It seems "stuck" in the fully open position. I can not budge it to make it cycle or move downward. Any ideas? Gun value is probably only a hundred bucks. Is it fixable for half that price or less? Thanks for any ideas or advice. The gun is not rusted into this position and was cleaned/lubed before storage. -
East Valley Gunsmith - shotgun won't cycle
kidso replied to kidso's topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
Finally went at my non-cycling 12 gauge. It was as simple as unscrewing and removing the large rear pin near the back of the receiver. Then, by applying some downward pressure, the receiver rotated away from the buttstock revealing all kinds of gunk that was in the upper rear part of the receiver and near the trigger. I lubed and cleaned the area multiple times, and it began cycling and became smoother with each cleaning. Beast cycles like a charm now! Forlorn Hope, I can guide you through this one! -
Nice black color. I am guessing 23S sow?
