I had a dog back in high school that escaped its homemade confinement area and ripped an eight foot rattlesnake skin that I was tanning into shreds! I have not owned a dog since that traumatic event.

Most of the game I tag occurs when I am alone, but my Glock .40 keeps me company on such adventures! The one time that I forgot to bring it along, I had a hard time sleeping at night and truly felt alone.

Like AZLance suggested, anyone who has done any substantial calling for bears will tell you dangerous stories of bears charging them or slipping in behind them and scaring the daylights out of them at close quarters! I rarely feel safe while calling bear, but that risk is what keeps me coming back for more! Respect the speed, power, and stealth of this apex predator! ...and keep a powerful pistol at your side!

Sam, very interesting. It is not musky at all? I am curious about brown bear meat. Seems like most Alaskans shy away from eating brown bear, while black bear is certainly a favorite staple. Any insight on the lack of eating brownies?
