Nice bloody skulls and great job on your double harvest!

Nice for the youngster to beat his old man! Great January for your family and freezer.

Sweet ending with a tag through a leg! Fun times chasing the piggies.

...losing some weight before the bear season... That line caused a tear drop to leak down my face. What dedication to the bruins!

Sweet photos! All the coues fanatics are going to serenade you for the GPS coordinates of that palmated beast! Great job. How far away from the buck were you on that close up head shot? That picture belongs on a calendar.

What a fun day! Looks like your arrow poked forward enough to slice into some vitals. Cool shot.

I carry a pen and a piece of paper for two reasons. One, for executing an emergency tracheotomy on anyone I find who is having trouble breathing. Two, for slipping in a small note into lockboxes with trail cameras that I find in areas that I too am hunting (hoping for a positive mutual exchange of information). So far, I am batting 1000 in terms of slipping notes into lockboxes for information exchange. However, if you happen to find a cadaver in the Sierra Anchas with a pen in his neck, you will know that I am not a perfect triage medic!

Looks like a skinny elk! Awesome job!

Looks like a brute! How much meat do you get off a mule deer like that?

I have harvested three June/July bears and none of the hair slipped on them. If you took care of your bear in the field and got its skin off quickly, within 2-3 hours post-shot and cooled it down put it on ice within a another 2-3 hours, then your hide should have been fine. Hopefully, it was not taken out of a freezer to thaw and left unattended, unchecked, or forgotten. I would have asked for the bear hide back to check its condition myself. I was "taxidermically shafted" by Jeff Paulsen at TaxidermyAZ, who took my money and a bear hide in return for his lies and deceit. I was one lucky guy to even get my raw skin back a year after he received it, thanks to his brother who fished it out from the bottom of a freezer for me! (...said hide supposedly was at the tannery finished and awaiting payment for shipment back to AZ). . The hide was then given to a reputable sponser of this site, who has rugged two bears and a lion for me already. Moral of the story is to stay with a good thing, even if it costs a few dollars more. Don't look to shave off a few bucks on a taxidermy job with an unknown operator, as you may seriously regret making that decision!

Does part 2 end with a tag through the leg?

Great job! Sweet stalk! How far did the javelin make it after the shot?

Lots of cats. What would your big tom from last year weight? 110 or 115? Curious about the weight on one of those beastly males!

What a beastly looking buck! Awesome job!

Sweet job, and to get it all on tape! Did you have a third person filming?

If you dedicate a full week to a serious bear hunting addiction, you will likely tag out.

Did he have frostbite or a sunburn?

...epic for bears... That is a beauty of a line. If the El Nino blesses us with some more good winter rains, then bears could be hitting any of the above named food sources and yet others, as nature always produces vegetative food in abundance when the winter rains are above-average. In my opinion, that actually increases the odds of finding a bear, as they will not necessarily be forced to concentrate on a single and perhaps isolated food source as they often do in drought years, so one could encounter a bear in just about any vegetative zone at any given time. That being said, put in a lot of ground time checking out different food sources as they ripen in rugged canyons or vegetated areas within a mile of available water in areas off the beaten path.

I have been laughing outloud reading these comments. This is a great (but sick) example of how we can all have fun together instead of arguing about ethics and other trivial things. I'm still reeling over Sack-squatch!!!

That is one of those old nudists who belongs to a nude hiking group. I had the displeasure of running into two of them near Tucson and they had nothing on but socks, boots, and bandanas around their necks. They were probably close to 70 years old. My eyesight was damaged that day and I have had to wear glasses since!
