If you put in for the early coues tags in the southern units you are pretty much guaranteed a tag. I've drawn em before as 4th & 5th choice.

Amazing info on immigration law
azslim replied to TwoGuns's topic in Political Discussions related to hunting
Been pulled over a few times on pavement down south while hunting, BP "just checking sir because you are in a high traffic area for illegal activity". -
Get some rollerblades Killer and find a smooth parking lot or some decent roads, not sure what Glob has to offer.

An alternative - I have a buddy that sent me a scarf from Afganistan that I wear when glassing. I pull it up over my head, drapes on my hat brim and it shades my eyes. It is light enough that you don't melt in the early hunts if you can glass from shade and still works okay to keep the wind from blowing down your neck in the cooler months, I wear a bandana if it is a cold wind. Sorry I don't have a pic to post of it.

I think the civil penalty is somewhere around 10k for a sheep, not sure and don't feel like pulling up the regs. I just know the fine the kid got is not the last one he is going to receive. Good chance he can say bye to his boat, truck and gun too.

Posner Apologizes to China

Mexico - 1 year in prison and big fine first offense, 10 years and bigger fine for 2nd. Plus check out the report from Human Rights Commission on how illegals in Mx are treated by authorities - raped, robbed, beaten, etc. Funny how none of our politicians have the cajones to stand up and point this out during the Obama/Calderon backslapping speeches. -
they will probably replace it with a high dollar Barska........

New rifle build...thoughts / opinions
azslim replied to azelkhunter2's topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
Not familiar with the Edge, faster/slower than .338lapua? For pretty much anything in North America I lean towards the .30-378wby. Speed or power depending on the bullet weight and it won't dislocate a shoulder. Don't own one but if a slot opens up in my safe that would be the next caliber that would go in it. I've shot the one put out by The Outdoorsman and really like that gun. -
and both countries have far worse penalties for illegal immigrants and dare I say it - civil rights violations.

Bill - you stole my thunder........I was going to point out the glass steadying aspect, except mine are 15's. In addition to Sotol or Agave stalks Saguaro ribs make nice sticks too, but are quite a bit heavier. Just sand them down and stick em in a 1 lb coffee can half full of lemon oil, the rib will draw the oil right up. I also have put rubber cane tips on the bottom of the ones we use.

True Bandido, but we have enough problems of our own without taking on extra ones. I realize why they want to come here, as screwed up as we are where they are from is even worse. UDA's usually wear a couple sets of clothes, then when they get close to the pickup spot they shed the outer layer so the weeks worth of dirt and grime doesn't give them away. My daughter works in the ER of a border hospital, she sees UDA's every week with broken legs/ankles from jumping the fence, heat casualties from walking and major medical issues - guess who foots the costs. Weekly there are people flown to Tucson to the trauma center - guess who foots the costs. She works with people that live out of town, they are afraid to go grocery shopping because their houses get broken into and trashed, they don't step outside without a gun strapped to them. There are a lot of problems along the border that we don't hear about.

My only suggestion, don't get one in camo - why pay extra money to make it easier to hide from yourself.

KRS, you are just going to have to try a couple tripods to see what works best for you. I'm only 6'2" and have an issue with getting something tall enough for me to stand and use. There is a bird shop, has bird food because my daughter needed some for her Maccaw, down there in Sierra Vista that carries Vortex and other optics, they had a couple different types of tripods if I remember right. Anyway go hit it up and check things out. I think it was on the S side of the road heading into the main gate, shopping mall right there. And when I swap between bino's/spotter I leave the grip in place and things line up just fine.

San Diego boycott of Az backfired
azslim replied to cactusjack's topic in Political Discussions related to hunting
Think this describes the group currently in power rather well. No I didn't write it, no cuss words which are my favorite descriptive adjectives, but I recognize good stuff when I see it and am more than willing to steal it and take credit for it. Holy Crap! I'm on my way to becoming a politician....... Ever hear the term "Limousine Liberal" before? There is a reason the expression "limousine liberal" came into being. It aptly describes those who fervently believe in the theory of liberalism--as long as they remain largely immune from its practical application. It's the cabal of self-righteous souls who are positive that Tea Partiers are racist, xenophobic bigots. It's the same people who encourage family-destroying, welfare dependency--as long as the socially dysfunctional stay in their own neighborhoods. It's those who support all manner of alternative energy--as long as it doesn't spoil their ocean view. It's those who bemoan the deplorable condition of public schools--even as they send their own children to private ones. It's those who champion financial "reform"--because they already have their wealth, and they don't want any competition. It's those who applaud government-run health care--because they have lifetime access to the best hospitals and doctors in the world, and will never spend a minute in any emergency room rubbing elbows with the great unwashed. It's those who wax poetic about the innumerable shortcomings of the country. There are none so enlightened as those for whom "do as I say, not as I do" underlies the totality of their worldview. Unabashed hypocrisy is the foundation of modern-day liberalism. It's the ideology of people who's consciences are completely assuaged by the idea of "throwing money" at every problem they encounter--as long as it's other people's money, and someone else is doing the heavy lifting. -
Why do you think he has on all the armor Amanda........ Having ate it a couple times on roller blades and steep inclines the armor is a very good idea.
-
you forgot to point out that the $2.7 billion was here in Az right now at this point in time....... When schools are facing cuts, when medical programs are facing cuts, when the unemployment line is getting longer and longer, and when all of us supporting the bill are racists because we think our taxes should support OUR citizens.

From what I have learned at various fires around the county is Verizon works better than any other company in most of the western states. Not asking for your honey hole, but what wilderness area are you visiting. I have hit the ones down here by Phx but haven't spent much time in the others, my work keeps me close to home during the summer when most people get to go exploring.
