And get Bruce Aidell's Complete Sausage Book, it has about 60 recipes for 2 to 5 lb batches. It is well worth the $25 it costs.

I screw the eye relief cups all the way in on my bino's, eliminates the ring. With my spotting scope I have to play with it a little. -
beautiful pictures, I just take them differently than you

Won't leave the house without a pistol, rule or no rule. Better to be judged by 12 than carried by 6.

what did you put on the skull - paint or stretch some thin leather? -
Sam, get the smaller one, it is easier to move around and will still grind up a deer or elk in short order.

I think it is a good buck, but setting back 10 yds from the deer and getting the camera right up on the antlers makes it deceptive. Would like to see a normal picture of this buck.

Strange rut this year, the big ones hadn't come out yet it seems. Several people took smaller bucks with these tags in multiple units. Mama Nature doesn't pay attention to our calendars.

IMO 1/2 hp is all anyone needs for personal game processing, while the bigger ones will grind a little faster I don't think it is worth the weight trade off. If you are doing multiple animals at once then the 1 1/2 or 1 3/4 are great. I have a little grind to do from a coues, will use my counter top grinder rather than mess with the heavy one. I have a 1 1/2 hp, picked it up in the Bargain Cave in 03 for $203.97 out the door, if it wasn't for the killer price I would have got the 1/2 hp. It weighs about 70 lbs.

Cool. The only TV I'll ever be on is maybe Cops. -
I feel your pain, helped a friend in 23 and we put up with the same weather. He took a small 4x yesterday, didn't want to be there for the rain and snow tonight. Saw a bunch of deer, just no big ones.

so much nicer to load up a mule rather than be the mule

What is the best all around binocular magnification?
azslim replied to PelaPapas's topic in Optics and tripods
my advice, save as long as it takes to get good quality glass. it doesn't have to be Swaro, etc. Otherwise you will spend twice the money getting up there. I have several lower quality bino's I have given away as I moved up, had I just saved a little longer up front it would have been cheaper in the end. Get into the grades that have a lifetime warranty. I like Vortex, I have them as my backups if something happens to my Swaro's or loan them out to people when they don't have decent glass. My suggestion is 8's around your neck and 15's and a tripod in the pack. -
Finally, put an arrow through this fine buck!
azslim replied to Viper's topic in Bowhunting for Coues Deer
my girls used to go through the neighborhood on Christmas Eve and put my old broken arrows in the decorations like that, even hung a couple red Christmas balls in the proper place to make them bucks. They had a lot of fun doing that.
