you can hump in water before hand if you want to camp at an area that is dry or you don't trust the water or like the flavor of filtered water

this is a good price, coming back from a fire in Idaho I stopped at the Barnes factory in Utah and picked up some .30 TSX 165 grs and paid $27 a box for them.

I picked up a new GPS a couple months ago and the 1:24000 map chip. Was a little pricey but now that I have been using it for a while it was well worth the money. It's the Garmin Oregon 450T. Most of the features I probably won't use, but to look at the terrain, find water you had no idea was around and plot routes it is great. I have been moving waypoints from my Garmin Etrex over, yes by hand with 12+ years of info on it. I can add a waypoint, then zoom in on the map, get the correct lat/long and get dead on instead of within 10 to 30 yds. The map card is missing a few roads I know are there, wish it had an option to add a road as you are driving along without having to save the track, but oh well. The Etrex took a long time to connect and wasn't near as accurate as the new one, this new one is fast. I also use it on my rehab/exercise walks, I track distance, speed and time. I spent a lot of time in NM this summer working fires, the map card has Az and NM so it will come in handy next season. So for a review of the Garmin 450T for hunting and rough terrain use I give it a solid "thumbs up".

I carry a boning knife and pillow cases, 4 for deer and 6 for elk, need king size for bulls. When you are done you can wash them up or throw them away and send the wife out yard saleing again. If you aren't going to eat it no need to pack it a few miles. I use frozen 16 oz water bottles for my meat cooler, lay down a layer, stack in meat and stick others where they will fit, this way the meat isn't soaking in water. A case is more than enough.

I have been using Thermarest for many years, have a couple different shapes but prefer the big long rectangle. Mine get used around 120 days a year and have stood up well.

do what Texas did, threw them all in jail until the funerals were over, this was when the fertilizer factory blew up

Well stated. I worked with these guys on many fires over the seasons, I am dumbfounded. Knowing them and their experience I can't imagine what the fire behavior was like in order to trap them. This wasn't a "pull together Type 2 crew", these guys knew their business and were good at it.

No trespassing, fishing or hunting allowed.

TNC did the opposite in Wy around my home town, they would buy up the big ranches, sell off the hqtrs to one of their friends and lock up the rest. They don't have a good name in Fremont County. Glad to hear this one isn't that way.

only natural, when people first start hunting any tag filler will do, as they get better and their skills improve they go for bragging rights, then when they reach the age to start passing on the tradition they go back to enjoying the hunt through the eyes of the newbies. A few will put themselves on pedestals and feel they must preach and brag about how good they are and belittle folks that don't feel the same way. Age will get them, it gets us all.

with the chemicals the force down, and for what it is worth I worked in the oil patch and know all about the jobs it provides, but what is the trade off, won't impact us now, it will get future generations -

poisons the ground water -
I wear a ghillie suit and carry a 4'x12' strip of camo burlap, can back into a tree, clip a few branches, string out the burlap and I have a blind that goes with me when I leave. So many friggin thieves nowadays don't leave anything out you care about. http://www.ranchosafari.com/

most of my hunting is by myself, don't mind it except at night in camp, wouldn't mind someone to bs with before hitting the rack, no fun making multiple trips to pack out game and camp, but that is part of the deal too. When by yourself take the long cuts, easy ways, anything you can do to reduce the chance of an accident, at least that's what I do nowadays.

John, was able to round up some powder and bullets so you can hang on to yours, I'm set for a while with 185 grs, but if you run into 230 grs give me a holler. Thanks for the offer my friend.

I know mouths of new brass get deformed in packaging, probably happen in the tumbling process too. I clean first then run through the dies.

you can use it on your Premium Az Elk hunt

Wonder what some of you think about his. Personally I'm old school and feel you should learn how to shoot yourself. I think this crosses the fair chase line. Due have to admit though that it would save a lot of money I spent making bullets and figuring out my holds, but I enjoyed the learning. http://www.outdoorhub.com/news/trackingpoint-tests-new-optics-on-hogs-from-helicopter/?utm_source=SilverpopMailing&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=May%2016%202013%20Daily%20Newswire%20(1)&utm_content=

while I know they could care less I did send an email telling them I felt they were turning hunting into a rich man/poor deal and that every resident should have an opportunity to hunt during a prime season, not just the ones with deep pockets. rather than piss and moan among each other I challenge all of you to do the same, let AZGFD know your feelings, maybe if they hear from enough of us it will have an impact, doubt it but at least we tried LicenseSimplification@azgfd.gov

it is turning into a rich/poor issue, and I had some exposure to G&F for a few years, have noticed a huge increase in the number of biologists on their payrolls, believe they outnumber WM's by about 3 or 4 to one nowadays, trying to make hunters fund ALL wildlife related activities in the state, basically 8% of the population of the state has to pay for all the hikers, bird watchers, campers, etc. And they really stuck up for us cash cows when the TMP's were put in place by the various Natl Forests.

they could care less what the public thinks, attending a meeting is just a waste of time and gas, their minds are already made up and they are planning how to spend the new dollars they will get from us this post has got a bunch of likes, but even tho you agree with me we still have to give it a shot to try and change their minds, I posted the email to let G&F know what we think about their proposed changes, take the time to send them one or two lines telling them you disagree with the proposal and that they are creating a Rich/Poor structure that will further divide hunters. I'd support a $5 to $20 increase across the board before I would support this Premium hunt crap. here is the email to send your comment to - LicenseSimplification@azgfd.gov good chance we are wasting our time, but we need to give it a shot

save the stalk when it dries out, they sand up real nice, cover with a clear sealant and make walking sticks, I've made a few over the years

Tea Party vs. IRS

IRS also scooped up millions of medical records they weren't authorized to get too. http://notleftnews.com/news/irs-illegally-seized-10-million-peoples-medical-records/
