Good condition used GPS, this is a little outdated by today's standards. I have the GPS, the original manual, and a computer/vehicle cable. Free to the first one who claims it. Located in Sierra Vista (work) or at Hereford (home). Could ship if you pay for shipping. Will fit in a small flat rate box. KRS

I just checked the box sizes, $11.35 for med flat rate box. I'm guessing from your email you want the Unit 8 North map also, I'll have to fold it to get it in a box. I know how to fold maps, so it'll be done nicely. I'll ship all to you for $120.

Any thoughts on recipies for deer chops? My father in law gave me 6 packs of chops from his MT mule deer. They're still quite frozen, but they appear to be butterflied backstrap (is that right???). I want to pan fry them this weekend in camp. Any thoughts or experience with this particular cut of venison? Thank you for your help, KRS

Met Pine Donkey yesterday evening, very nice guy and a great family. He did a great thing by passing along a bow that he wasn't going to use anymore. What a great guy! Had a short but good visit with him and his family, good people. Seems to be lots of similar minded folks on these forums Take care, KRS

Do guns reall "like" some ammo over others?
KRS replied to apache12's topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
My 7mm-08 REM (savage) for the kids will NOT shoot winchester ammo (black box) worth a darn. Handloads are dead-on though. My 270 REM (winchester) shoots the cheap blue box federal stuff dead-on at 400 yards (nikon BDC scope), but ANY "performance" ammo is all over the place. KRS -
Wow, I'm in Hereford. I'd really like one. I'm fairly tall (long armed), not sure which one has the longest draw....?

Shot my wolf (in my avatar) in Fall of '08 with my brother and my best friend, we did a self-guided, low-budget, deep-wilderness hunting trip in Alaska. The wolf was actually coming for me when I saw it, turned, and shot it. I was on the beach and it was halfway from the treeline to the low tide line (where I was) before I even saw it. Shot it with my 450 Marlin (leverevolution 325 grain loads). We all came back alive except for the wolf and two bears KRS

I'm 6'7". I ordered a manfrotto pistol grip (8" tall) to use when the binos are on the tripod; I'll quick release the binos and put on the spotter (angled- but you already know that!). So, I'm thinking I need a 66" tall tripod. I don't think I should get one with a ball head, because the pistol grip will give me what I need (right?). I'm torn between what I just decribed: no pan head, just put the pistol grip on the head-less tripod, and quick release the top of the pistol grip. This will require that the tripod be lowered for the spotter to be used. Option # 2: Put a pan head (or ball head, I don't know) on the top of the tripod, then a quick release on top of that, then the pistol grip on top of that. Use binos on pistol grip. When I want to switch to spotter, quick release the entire pistol grip assembly from the pan head, and put the spotter on the pan head. The spotter will most likely be the perfect height with this setup. Thoughts? KRS
